I have been using a full synthetic 5w-20 oil when I have been doing my oil changes. Since I have 125k I just switched to a high mileage partial synthetic from Castrol. Still 5-20, also added lucas oil addative. Engine seems to run either at a lower RPM or just a little more quiet, but seems a tad slugish too... could totaly be in my head, but should I keep it like this or drain it and put the full synthetic back in? Thanks

I got 125k on mine too now and i've always used the fully synthetic mobile 1 5w-20. Mine recently started a low/rough idle and lesser fuel mileage. cleaned the throttle body and changed the plugs last saturday and it runs and idles good now!:)

I did the Throttle body and plugs about 15k ago, should still be okay I would think? Have you thought about going to high mileage syn oil? I just did it more for preventative maitnance for the seals etc. But maybe doubting doing it.... I'll give it a thousand miles and see what I think then.

I see a lot of guys here running 20 weight in their 4.0, what are you running 5W-30?

M1 0W-30, same price as the other "synthetic" M1s and with the 0W I know it is a Group IV synthetic, not a highly-refined dino oil.

I was just wondering if the 20 weight would cause any problems with the VVT. I've "heard" some rumblings on this, but have never seen any proof. If it's true it might be a cause for it feeling a bit lethargic, maybe, possibly, kinda........:D

Keep with what you've been running. High mileage oil is a rip-off and unecessary. So are oil additives.
