    Look at build!
thats what i did when i swapped all my stuff out at school! just make sure the bushings arent cracked or anything and that everything looks normal, i saw someone on here who had re-used the stock ones and after a couple hundred miles had a vibration and the bushing was bad so the center bolt had dug its way toward the outer edge of the top plate, but i took the chance and havent had an issue...yet!

Yea replace the bushings no matter what. But i just went to a tire shop and they let me use their coil compressor and i did it all myself with all stock stuff other then new bushings. Was easy.

I want to buy the bilstein/eibach set up.

I just have one question. How do you adjust the seat on the bilsteins?

Do you need a special tool or is it easy?

Im planning on buying the full coilover from toytech. I thought the spring only lifts the truck like 1.6" but the specs say it comes preset at 3''...

I had a question about the settings too...

Should bottom plate be put on the lowest setting?

hey thanks man for replying so fast. So let me just get this straight sorry if im being a pain.

The only difficult part is taking it apart because there is pressure from the new coil spring? to actually adjust the position of the seat on the shock is simple with no tools? and even if I have the bilstein on the lowest setting i still get 3 inches of lift?

Thanks for any and all answers =)

Nope that's exactly what I wanted to hear. thanks. It's great having so many people on here with experience with these things before I go out and drop a couple hundred $$$

... Now I'm just wondering what toytec presets the bilsteins too when they set up the coilover for you..

What I want to do is leave the bilstein at 0'' and just let the coil lift the truck a little bit. Im really not looking for a lot of lift. I rarely go offroading. I just want better suspension than stock.

Your a second gen so you only get a bout 1.5-2'' of lift from these with the 5100s set a .85.

YES! DO NOT precompress these. Your truck will hate you for it.

So I just ordered my 5100s and eibachs for my single cab 4banger.. It was kinda stupid of me to ask this question after spending the money, but here I go anyway lol

Have any of you had any problematic issues after installing these?
Have you been forced to buy new ucas?

I told toytec I want the lowest setting on the 5100s and he said I would still get about 2" lift.

I will need an alignment after install correct??

    Thanks for any answers!

Lol more like 3.5" of lift. Or did you get the adjustable coil overs?

You do not need new ucas, but it never hurts. And an alignment is usually needed yes

They're the adjustable bilsteins set at 0. I just got the fully assembled package. The toytec spring says it only lifts the 05-12models 1.6" but I figure because mine is a single cab 4cyl it will probably be more..

Is it worth spending the money on new shocks F + R, new coils and new leaves, if the job isn't part of a lift? I'm already at 190K on my '97, but if it were to smooth the ride out in any appreciable way, I'd spend the money. Looks like I could go with the Monroe pre-assembled combos, or Moog coils with 5100's. I want to maintain stock ride height.

well if you want to maintain stock ride height then i dont see a problem with the bilsteins at stock height or the moog, but theres a good chance since your at 190k that your rear leafs are pretty shot and an upgrade to those would deffinatly help the ride along with some new shocks...you can always re-build the rear leafs with multiple smaller leafs instead of a big one for a smoother ride!

I would get OME 880s and the nitrocharger shocks. I have read they rid smoother. Then get Wheelers 4pack leafs and the nitro in the rear too. Will be stock height, maybe a touch over.

i believe when 2nd gens are lifted above 2" they need aftermarket UCA's but im not too sure.

Will be installing this lift soon on a 2nd gen AC,

Most likely @ .85 to get 3" lift in the front and 2" AAL(non TSB).

    Questions:

    - I currently have Yokohama Geolander AT/S (265/70/16), with a 2.5 - 3" lift I would like to upgrade to (265/75/16) on stock TRD OR rims. I hear this requires wheel spacers or new UCAs because of the rubbing. Is this correct?

    - How many people needed the 1/4 driver side spacer on 2nd gens?

    Thanks

idk about the spacer but my dad just put on 265/75R17 Cooper STTs and they are just shy of rubbing.

You will not need spacers.. 265 is the width of the tire if you're already running 265, and you clear it, its the same width. 70 to 75 just means the tire gets taller. It shouldn't change how close to the uca it is.

No, only if you want to get extended travel shocks.
