Has anyone used the Emberlit stoves before? I just read a few reviews and they look pretty awesome so I ordered one. Needed something more compact for basic stuff over the Kelly Kettle.

That's what I'm hoping for! Love the cold but it doesn't seem we get enough of it in FL.

You have one too? I haven't even taken it out of the box yet to make sure it works! I think I'll like it, seems versatile and more compact than dragging my current BBQ around.

lol i didnt get anyhting cool:mad: went to get a sleeping bag and tarp but they didnt have the ones i wanted so i got some giro zen gloves, a swedish fire steel, a new compass, a book telling me how to break down a map and use it correctly, a extra 100ft of paracord, and a ECWCS base layer. the ECWCS base layer is accually very warm and affordable. thinking about going back to pick up more.

Does anybody have the REI Visa credit card? I've been thinking about getting a credit card recently to build some credit (I have none right now). Just got an email about it the other day. You get a $100 gift card too :D

I don't like the whole credit thing either, but I tried to get cable a couple months ago and the deposit was going to be $400 . I think its a necessary evil.

I was thinking about renting out a forest service cabin this winter though and snowshoeing in for a weekend. most of the cabins go for $30 a night...
