That only describes the strength at which the Earth pulls you or an object towards it. Scientists use Einstein's THEORY of General Relativity to descibe WHY gravity works as it does. As a whole, gravity is not fully explained by law.

So I'm curious how creationists feel about dogs. A few hundred years of selective breeding turned wolves into everything from chihuahuas to poodles to boxers.

Yes, a chihuahua could theoretically still breed with a wolf, but it's funny how massive physiological changes can happen in a few centuries but the concept of large-scale change happening over millions of years is just nonsense. :) It's basically impossible for humans to comprehend a span like 100 million years, and therefore equally impossible for many to comprehend gradual physiological change.

The fossil record is also really interesting from a creationist standpoint. All the really old tree fossils are something other than deciduous, not even really conifers as we know it, but the trees and plants on earth now were floating along the whole time and for some reason simply weren't fossilized like ancient (from an evolutionist's standpoint) species were?

Even if you think the earth is only a few thousand years old and Noah's flood caused all the fossils, why would the fossils be only of a different class of vegetation altogether? Why aren't there pear tree fossils, or blue jay fossils, for instance?

Einstein is one of the most amazing minds the world has known, he has done great things in the name of science. I wonder what some would think about his ideas of a there being a Creator, particularly the vast amount of lesser Scientists who would discount these ideas from "regular" people because there is no "evidence". The arrogance of today's scientists who think they have the answers is laughable and no diff than the religious fanatic.

"In view of such harmony in the cosmos which I, with my limited human mind, am able to recognize, there are yet people who say there is no God. But what really makes me angry is that they quote me for the support of such views."

"I'm not an atheist and I don't think I can call myself a pantheist. We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many languages. The child knows someone must have written those books. It does not know how. It does not understand the languages in which they are written. The child dimly suspects a mysterious order in the arrangements of the books, but doesn't know what it is. That, it seems to me, is the attitude of even the most intelligent human being toward God."

The whole dog thing gets me too. Humans have accelerated their evolution by selective breeding to ehance specific traits. Basically, Humans have taken over the role of Nature in regards to the canine species.

I respect Einstein's work, I really don't care about his beliefs. If there he had a "God theory" or a "God equation", I'd be more than willing to accept it.

All Religion is ignorance to realty. it's a method of dictatorship and mind control. How can you say ANY religion is right when there is so many variations ? I'm a devout atheist, I don't believe in religion!

It's not a method of dictatorship and mind control. Everyone has a choice whether to believe in religion, or not to believe.

every race does indeed not have a choice whether to accept or dismiss their religion. We often forget that the freedoms we have here in the USA are not shared with other countries. And if you look at the history of Christianity, it was very much a dictatorship, look up the SALEM WITCH TRIALS in SALEM,MA. innocent people being accused of witchcraft and persecuted because of the church. The church was at one time more powerful than law enforcement.

Theory was too far below him in this area, he didn't limit himself like all too many people do today. A shame really, people get so locked into certain ways of thinking that they blind themselves.

Actually, they do have a choice. It all just depends on whether they what to stand up for what they believe in, how do you think we got our freedom in the first place? I do not care for the history of any specific religion, nor do I want to look it up.

Your two cents was not needed.

I'd like to add that I especially do not forgot what we had to sacrifice to become an independent nation since I'm actually taking a United States history course right now. :)

Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening,
terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in
this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities, the political, the
religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by
giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their
    view of reality…
To think for yourself you must question authority and
    learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness;
chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself.
    Think for yourself.
    Question authority.
