I have a 2.5 spacer kit om my 08 4x4 tacoma with 285 tires. Now I want to up grade to a 6" lift, but many experts are telling me to go with a 3" lift, but I see all these cool tacomas with 6" lifts.Dude at latest 4x4 expo told me you have to cut the frame for a 6" lift. What's up with that?

6" lifts require a drop bracket and thats why most guys including myself aren't fond of them. Thats why the majority of us go with the 3" lift.

i got procomp stage II. i wheel the shit outta my truck. i guess the only thing i worry about is hitting the front cross members n the rear axle when wheeling. other than that, there is alot of clearance IMO. i also decided to invest in sliders... just in case. also one bad note is that the 6in has a higher center of gravity n is less maneuverable around obstacles, but thats where if ur careful u can just crawl over it.

... also the tire size will give u a little bit more clearance. taller tire=taller truck. Correct?

Yes, but a 3" lift will still have more ground clearance than a 6" drop bracket lifted one. :stirthepot:
