I was actually impressed with this release, it wasn't buggy for us at all. We aren't as hardcore as most of the Developers, but for what we were doing, it wasn't bad at all.

It was a little bit slower for us on our Dev iPhone 4 than it is on my personal iPhone 4, though...which was a nice surprise.

You probably already did this, but I would do a Restore. Anytime a major OS release comes out, it's best to completely Restore the phone and set it up as a "new" phone. Just be sure all of your data is backed up somewhere else.

How does the speed compare on the 3GS to iOS 4? I was wondering how well it would run.

Good call, I thought both generations of the iPad could do it.

I'm glad the majority of you are getting everything updating. I will probably mess with the settings some more over the next few days and once I get it figured out pretty well, I'll do a full Restore and set it up the way I normally do.

I haven't had much chance to play with it on my 3GS , just finished getting the phone restored at about 1:15 am and I went to bed .

At first glance it seems a bit faster and smoother .

That's awesome! I was worried it was going to be a lot slower. Thanks for the info.

I will never download that damn app. The Find My iPhone App is the only one that I think would be useful (out of all of the Find My... Apps).

iMessage should work without you even knowing if you're messaging someone else that's using iOS5.

I've got everything synced with the cloud also. I added an address to a contact just a little bit ago then went to icloud.com to check and sure enough, it was already attached to the contact there! SO SICK!

FYI - Find my Friends works all the time, even when the app is closed. You have to go into the app and turn it off completely or remove everyone for people to not know where you are.

FYI again - when you setup geo-fences your GPS is running NON STOP. See the arrow in the top right by your battery? Use sparingly.

Find my friends doesn't appear to run the GPS constantly when the app is closed. Seems to only ping every minute or so and not with full accuracy.

The Geofences are amazing! I messed around with this at the office.

I have still yet to master building them into our App...one of these days, though...

My office is a metal building and I get garbage service in here so i'm constantly using more battery than normal to keep bars. If I could walk through walls, I would have perfect service 3 feet to my left outside  I'm usually plugged in all day anyways, so no worries for me!

That could be my fault, I wasn't really paying attention once he said that it was just because of the downloads...

I just deleted all the music off and resynced it. It's working as of this morning... No worries.

This one wasn't bad - definitely slower than the final release version, though.

That was probably iOS 3ish! :D

    Example...

"shit, I need to call my woman when I leave work to see if she needs any tampons" - set reminder, set to alert when you leave a location.

    Reminders in a nutshell :D

 I see. So instead of a time, it's gps based. For example if you left work early or late, then the gps would remind you, rather than time. Nice.

The gps arrow is in the status bar full-time though... I wonder how the battery will react.
