What is all this "SOA" malarky??

RC, yes those are older pics. That's the first vinyl kit that was done for the the series. Personally I'm a much bigger fan of the second one (That you guys have seen). But these pics were taken for the article in Longtravel Magazine so they were done by a professional photographer.

Those Tyres were Nitto grapplers, and i'll tell ya, I like the Generals WAYYYY more!!!

    soa is Spring over axel.

is you go with sua, spring under axel, you can get much more travel that way, much more up travel.

if you ran the springs that would in a SUA set up over the axel you would be at like 9 inches of rear lift lol

the rear suspension is not considered long travel unless there are new spring hangers, shackles, the leafs packs mount under the axle (not over) and the leafs are longer than stock either 62" or 64"

Copy. I just didn't understand the internet abbreviation.
Yes my spring Is over the axel still. And I Do know that you can get more travel if that is reversed. However I still would consider it full (front and rear) LT, because the back is worked on quite a bit too. My leaves are some pretty serious Deavers, and my rear shocks (mounted to the cage) are substantially lengthy. Giving it "more travel".
    Just sayin' ;)

I really is a cool set up to have. And if you do it right, the whole thing can come out if you wanted it to. Since my rear shocks are attached to it, it would be kinda difficult but the tyre carrier and the whole thing is welded into one piece. :) Worth it though! The extra support is grand!

i consider my truck to be a trophy truck... but that doesn't mean it is. lol

your set up does offer more travel that stock because of the deaver pack, but it still bolts to the stock mount locations, therefore it is not considered a "long travel" rear suspension. it's what is refered to as "mid travel"

i bet it handles pretty well now, but you would def have a bigger smile on your face when driving that thing if you had some 62" leafs under that axle :D

how long ago did you buy the truck? i remember seeing it in the long travel mag article.

Here's the thing, here at TW the bar to be considered "LT" is pretty low. Basically aftermarket UCA and LCA and a longer than stock coil over make you LT up front and a spring under axle, links, or cantilever in the rear constitute LT.

Go over to race-dezert.com and they would tell us all "nice mid travel truck".
