I can't believe the amount of idiot drivers out lately. I swear it is getting worse every day I drive. Usually I leave before everyone gets up, but lately I've been leaving a little later for a different job....and I've had to deal with it.

Three things that i DO NOT understand. Maybe someone can shed some light so I don't get so pissed off that these stupid idiot drivers.

    1) Left Lane Hog. When I took drivers-ed, not that long ago, coming up on 12 years now...I was taught that the left lane was for PASSING or considered the "fast" lane. I was told, if you aren't going "fast" or passing people that you should ride in right lanes and leave the left for passing. THEN a couple years back we had a law pass that the left lane was only for passing. If you weren't passing a vehicle then it was illegal to be in that lane. Well, so much for that law that never gets enforced.

For what reason do people feel the need to sit in the left lane and do the speed limit holding up a line of cars behind them? Yea, I know, I am speeding. Do I care? No. Come out to Chicago where the area expressways are a painstaking 55 mph...everywhere. I usually cruise around 70 which is pretty much the speed limit (or flow of traffic) in every other single state I've ever been in. Why does chicago have to be 55? because they suck, thats why. That's not the point though, the point is I am stuck behind 3 lanes of traffic of people going 55 mph. Why can't they just move over and let people pass? If I feel like driving slow I am sitting in the right lane like I am supposed to. It's more dangerous to hold people up because then it causes road rage and makes people do unsafe lane changes to get around them.

    2) Green light nappers.
When the light turns green- GO! The lights around some areas are extremely short in duration. I CONSTANTLY get stuck behind people that are picking their nose and then realize the light is green after everyone starts honking. By the time they make it through, 2 more cars get through and it turns red  Or better yet, why doesn't everyone just start driving when the light turns green? Do you really need to wait for the car in front of you to start driving before you even take your foot off the brakes? The chain reaction is painstakingly slow and really limits the amount of cars that get through the light.

    Or my personal favorite:
    2b) Eggshell drivers.
These are the idiots that drive like they are trying not to crush an eggshell under their gas pedal. This one gets me because they take about 3 blocks to get up to the speed limit, and then stay there, sometimes a little under. Instead of getting over a lane, they just put blinders on and thats it. The part that gets me is the fact that they think (I can only assume) that they are saving gas by taking off slow. HOWEVER, by taking off slow they miss the next green light, therefore they are waiting at a red light constatly idling. The lights around here are timed. If you do not accelerate up to speed quick enough, you WILL NOT make the next light. I am not talking top fuel dragster either. but my god, you would think some people were trying to make a gallon of gas last 200 miles. I want to stab my eyes out when I get stuck behind these people because when I am in front, I can put the cruise on and hit every green light.

Thanks for letting me rant, I feel better now

Ever though of anger management? lol... just kidding... :D

I hate retarded drivers too, but remember -- you can only control what you do... you can't control what others do. (that's from The Office... :D)

I realize it's the way it is, I just don't understand why. Is it a drivers-ed thing? Are they not taught anything anymore? Lack of common sense?

You forgot the BLINKER TARDS. People use blinkers as watch out here I come instead of I'd like to get over when it's not gonna cause a wreck or road rage incident. It's like they just can't wait for you to go by, they have to cut you off like they're gonna go over a cliff if they don't or they'll have to go 100 miles outta their way if you don't let them over right now. FUCK THAT!!! Know where the fuck you are & be where you need to be ahead of time & observe the rules above while doing it. Then you get these asswipes that change lanes & put the blinker on half way into the other lane. Why the fuck bother? People know your changing lanes when the car is halfway in another lane dumbasses! The blinker becomes an insult at that point. So to counter this I use my blinkers after the fact when cutting off the blinker tards real close where they wanna honk & shit. Or do 1 blink rt,lft,rt,lft to signal the lane change combo you're fixing to do or have just completed. When others get a clue then I'll play along too. Until then you don't get any warning ahead of time what I'm gonna do. Then people just try to bluff you out of getting over even when you're trying to use them the correct way so the hell with that. People that use them correctly will get let in, people who try to force their way can eat shit every time. Act like you wanna be treated MFs! OK, all better....

I still say this is link #47 in the big chain of 'F-me, F-u'. The lead guy at the light finally has a little power over somebody that he never has otherwise. So I liken it to the a-hole pedestrian who briskly walks up to the crosswalk just as your truck's nose hits the line, then proceeds to lollygag slowly across the street in front of you KNOWING you have no choice but to wait. See the similarity? I truly believe this is bad driver attitude of people with weak disposition just dicking with others. I refuse to be like that. I am the king of courtesy on the road to the point of thankless frustration-but the bright side is guys and gals like me are counterbalancing the stupidity.

Oh, I balance it out too. Treat the aholes like they act & treat the normal folks with the proper courtesy. It's the mirror effect - what you put in front of it is what you get. Not the christian way but minus all the brain infarctions from the constant barrage of dipshittery. I prefer to stay in courteousland but well, sometimes you gotta break even. It's a balance thing. Too much of anything is bad in the long run.

Haha. I rarely use my blinker in heavy traffic for the sole reason that as soon as you put your blinker on, the guy that you were gonna pass doing 50 is now doing 150 to keep you from going in front of them . It doesn't usually stop me though because I will just put them into the wall if they don't let me in. I mean, I am being nice, using my blinker, not cutting you off...then all of a sudden you have to be a dick. I can be one too buddy.

good point. I sometimes do the same thing to people that are being pricks to me. I'll have someone pass me like 10 times on one road. Once I get in front of them I will just cruise along and I can see their vein popping in their head. If you didn't just cut me off 10 times I wouldn't be pissed at you buddy!

And the Alternate Blinker Tards- the ones who are Indy CART racers during another life- so they whip their ride around in the tighest spaces like it's on rails to go there....Be it across two lanes of traffic or into a turning lane AT the intersection..but either way it's RIGHT in front of you...and you had NO idea what was coming. I don't mine moves without signals so much....but crazy bids and high speed close quarters stuff needs to be signaled.

Driving down a 2 lane road with no traffic behind me and some gasbag decides to turn in front of me and proceeds to go below the speed limit for miles. Of course this is in a no passing zone or there is traffic coming the other direction. Oh to have a machine gun turret mounted on the front bumper!

Amen! I can't stand some of the stupid crap people do behind the wheel. I think it's a combination of control/ policing and unawareness. Some people get off on the feeling of control over the you, or that they're doing the "right/ christian thing" by not letting you speed etc. Others are so far off in their own world they have no clue as to what's going on around them. GRR, it's makes me angry just thinking about it. Glad to see I'm not the only one who sees this.

I agree all you guys talk about, no matter what you did, still a lot of stupid and non-sense driver on the road.
Now I try to take it easy, and only once a while I will piss off.

Ever thought that some, maybe a lot, of these drivers are from different states and the laws/rules there might be different? I know Vegas is an extremely transient state, hardly anyone who lives here was born here or has lived here for many years.
For example...we don't have a "passing lane" and were never taught anything about a passing lane, so if I went to your city I would drive in the left lane. I did this in Missouri with my grandpa and he asked me what I was doing after a few miles in the left lane and he explained it to me :) I was wondering why there was nobody in that lane.

Our max speed is 65mph and if you're going less than 70mph you are getting tailgated and passed like you are going slow, so I go to AZ and get a 21 over ticket .

In Cali the max speed while towing is 55mph, here we don't have a towing speed limit. So we end up speeding in Cali .

I do agree with the green light napper and the egg driver and the blinker though.

+2!!!, I hear ya. People who wanna be cops can go get a badge & give out tickets, otherwise just fuckoff & drive! You're not paying my gas bill, insurance, inspection, registration or maintenance so just worry about staying the hell out of other people's way that are trying to get somewhere vs. sight seeing.

Yes & that's where the common sense that is missing from 85% of people on the road should kick in & know more about where you are trying to go in general before wandering around all lost & floppin in the fast lanes & doin idiot shit that interferes with what everyone else is trying to do that has their head out of their ass. People need to make themselves victims of their own stupidity much more often & quit dragging innocent random strangers into their nonsense.
