If I get to a gas station immediately after the light comes on, it's usually around 16.8-16.9 to fill.

Here's mine from a trip to California. I set the cruise at 2000 rpm and enjoyed the view.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
thats normal, it is a fair warning, i think you can go about 30 miles after the light comes on only reason i say that is that one time when i was driving home from college the fuel light came on and i contiued to drive the 28 miles i had left before i hit the gas station so now you know you can make it at least 30 miles after it comes on

My light comes on and I fill up about 16-17 gallons. That means I should have around 22*3 miles, to go.

Or 100 miles left. You have about 5 gallons in the tank when the light comes on.

Light comes on once ~17 gallons have been consumed. This means you have ~4 gallons remaining. If you decide to keep filling after the first click, you can get an additional 2 gallons in the fill-tube. Using the average mileage for your truck, you can figure out how much farther you can go after the light comes on.

    For my truck,

    4 gallons remaining x 26 MPG = 104 miles
    6 gallons remaining x 26 MPG = 130 miles

The light came last night while I was on a beer run. Filled up while there. Sorry I didn't get the pic before I filled up so the light was on. I was more interested in getting the beer before the midnight cutoff. I took it before I reset the trip.

409.9 miles with 16.88 gallons for 24.28 mpg. The tank was still 60% to 70% in town driving. You can increase your mileage by 20% just by going easy on it. You're by no means a slow poke either. I'm still usually the first away from the red light with the accelerator only 3/4" down.

Normally I'm not looking forward to long drives, but I've got a trip coming up in a couple of weeks that will let me know what I can do on the highway with a truck loaded up with people and a bed full of gear.

I ordered a URD short shifter, and they sent me the wrong spacer plate. I didn't realize this until after I took everything apart. So my truck sat for 5 days...this tank is taking a long time to go through.

I think it is impossible, describe your normal commuting.

Are you factoring the error in your odometer with 33s?

Did you legitimately calculate your MPG at 10?
