Damn, that is some serious bad luck! lol

I haven't had any probs with my Droid Inc. and i've had since the day it first came out. Dropped it multiple times and nothing, dropped my old iPhone once in the dirt and the screen cracked . I like it a lot better than my old iPhone and it's a hell of a lot more durable. Can't wait for my upgrade in January, though!

    I PHONE all the way!

I used to have an iphone4. Dropped it in water and broke so I got the Samsung Infuse 4g. (first droid). The phone was garbage. Choppy, slow, freezes, the batteries on droids last like 5 hours if you actually use your phone. The customization part is cool but thats it. after 2 weeks of use I got a virus on my phone. WTF? The app store sucked. Internet was very choppy. The camera and video camera were crappy.

It was no where near the Iphone 4 on any kind of level. Battery lasts 2 days.Better picture and video quality. More friendly user. Cant get any kind of virus,Better display. And if you jailbrake your iphone. You can customize it anyway you want and still not have to worry about a virus.

Traded it back for an Iphone 4!

Apple's OS can get viruses, and has... just like any can/will. To think otherwise is ignorant.

Also, I'm Droid for life (or at least until something truely opensource comes out). I hate Apple's business practices and the way they control their market.

Why? Because it was first? Windows phones and blackberry's predated the iPhone. Does that mean the iPhone is a ripoff of those?

My wife has the iPhone 4 and I have a Motorola Atrix.

Kind of a crappy review of the car dock but it's one of few out there in english.

I love the car dock and the lapdock. They're so convenient. I also have the multimedia dock which hooks the phone up to my tv.

For development, the Android system is better. Everything is free and I can develop on any computer (IOS requires an Intel Mac to develop for it). Plus, Android uses the Java language rather than Objective C.

This is the one thing (among others) keeping me from getting the iphone. My itunes sucks donkey dick on my pc. Half the time it cant even connect to the store. If I can't connect to the store, then I can't access what i need on my iphone when connected. My other issue is I have some apps on my droid that I have info stored on (acar for vehicle maintenance records and password keepers) that are not available for the iphone so I cant transfer my info over.

Don't try and tell people that though lol. Nearly every friend of mine who is an Apple fanatic always brag about that fact. And then tell me when I'm wrong when I try to inform them.

I have a Droid X now. Generally it's been good. I generally avoid Apple products, I'd be open to looking at the iphone if they changed a few things. But I was disappointed with what the 4S is. At this point I'll wait to see what the iphone 5 has to offer since it will probably be drastically different. I'd rather not lock myself into another contract knowing something better is coming.

Opensource means that the source code itself is open and available to modify. I could develop my own android based device if I were so inclined.

Apple is a closed source system meaning you'll never get to the guts of the phone's OS. Neither is necessarily bad unless you want to modify your phone (e.g. different skins, run the processor at a slower speed, etc). Plus, even though the Android system is open source, some android phones are also locked to prevent people from modifying them so it isn't necessarily an android vs iphone issue. But the underlying phone code is open on an android whereas it's not on an iPhone. The way Apple sees it, there is no other phone that will use IOS so it shouldn't to be open.

It's the same with computers. Windows and OSX are closed source systems (Microsoft and Apple won't let you look at it's source code). Linux is an Open Source system.

I'd have to go with my Droid on this one. My gf has had the iphone4 and got the update and i still say the droid is probably the way to go. More apps, more customization of your phone, better phones (screen wise, camera, removable battery, removable SD cards, Processors, etc). I know the Iphone 4s is having the first dual processor in the iphone, better camera, etc but its something the droid has had and while releasing more phones yearly they just continuing adding to what the Iphone has to catch up to.

I think most people who hate on Apple/Iphone and apple products are jelly they don't have them. I have had the Iphone 4 for a year and not one problem. Its the best phone ive ever had.

My whole family has Droids and the Iphone 4 kicks their asses in everything. Sure the customization is cool, but the Iphone does games better and the battery life isn't even comparable. I bet the new droids will be nice , but for now Iphone 4 FTW!! :D

If you have a newer model droid you do not need anti-virus software, task killer, or any of that. As far as internet goes mine hardly ever freezes or is choppy for that matter.

Yes you can unlock your iphone for customization, which i had to have an iphone would be the only way i would go. However, if you can not restore the jailbreak before taking it back to apple, then your warranty is out the window. The only thing i do give the iphone is its little better battery life. The android phones battery are mostly all pretty weak but that is the only complaint i have about the phone.

If your Iphone is through AT&T then your even worse off. Your paying for an Iphone that takes forever to load browser and drops calls every other call.

For me, the biggest problem with IOS is multitasking. Though it has some limited ability, getting around problem apps or switching quickly between multiple apps is much more difficult with IOS.

My wife has the iPhone 4 and has had occasions where an app locks up the phone. Unless it responds, she has to reset the entire phone. On my android, I have a go-back button that can take me back to the main screen. I can then kill the problem app.

Plus, going back and forth between multiple apps is much easier on the android. I just hold down the home button and icons from my recently used apps appear.

I prefer android's folders over just having a bunch of icons all over the place. Folders keeps the icons better organized and keeps the clutter down. Customizable home page.

Had an Iphone from Verizon, GF has an Iphone, Traded for a Droid and would never go back. Not sure what your meaning cant have or afford Iphone, when most of the time they are cheaper then most Droids.

I think most people just have confirmation bias. They see only the benefits of their preferred platform and only the negatives of the others (including iPhone users).

My wifes phone (iPhone 4) and mine have about the same battery life.

It's a Motorola product so it's available on their website. AT&T has them. I got mine from Amazon.com. I've also seen them at Fry's Electronics. It's specific to the Atrix though.
