Yup, just got dueched in my month old 09. Pretty damn furious about it. It starts snowing and people forget what its like to drive. Regardless, the guy gave me his insurance info and his personal info. He said to call insurance if I want to but hes willing to pay out of pocket. Should I just my dealer and have them price a new bumper OR look at aftermarket, if its around the same price?

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
I'd go for an aftermarket bumper, but if you want it to be stock, then just go to the dealer for it...

Sucks, but at leas the guy was cool about it. Could have been worse, there's a lot of jerks out there. I'd take it to the dealer for the bumper replacement and let the guy pay. He'll be surprised at the cost, but it will be done with the right parts and you'll forget about the whole thing in a few weeks.

If it were me I'd get the price for a new one installed at the dealer then get a check from the guy for that amount and apply that to a nice aftermarket bumper.

why do our tacomas get rear ended all the time...??? Im still doing physical therapy for the hit i took last month. I took mine to the dealer and did insurance. If you did out of pocket he'd have to pay for the new everything, any frame damage AND your rental.. that and if you do have any pain later, insurance wouldnt cover that.. for the both of you, go through insurance. Was it a bad hit?

Oh.. and rental cars like nissan maxamas can do speed bumps at 55mph. Just to let you know.. =) I mean, that's what they're there for right..?

Sorry to hear about that, as for what to do, if you want the bumper like you had, head to the dealer, if you plan on upgrading bumpers in the future, go with another style.
If someone nailed me I would most likely go with a heavy duty bumper.

If I could afford it I would buy this bumper (the rear bumper is at the bottom of the page):

    http://www.roadarmor.com/site/toyota/05-tacoma.php

However, even with $900 I could not afford to buy the bumper. $1740 is a lot of monoy for a rear bumper.

I just saw that All Pro is doing 15% their Road Armor stuff... Maybe just bite the bullet and do front and back at the same time? Anyone had experience with their stuff?
