i asked my auto tech instructor today about my leaf springs if i should get new ones to replace my completely flat about to sag origional 180K mile ones and he responded with...

great question but do you really want to spend that much to replace when you can rebuild/ reshape them...

to make everything clear what i am asking is

is it possible to reshape your leaf springs and not have a downside to it?

Some shops can reshape them although I don't think they would hold their arch for very long. I have no experience with re-arched leafs so I can't really say for certain though.

from what i understand they like re arch them by heating them and reshaping them

and if that is the case what exactly are leaf springs made of?

if your going to lift the rear, wait and get a 2 inch leaf pack to match your lift
