I didn't know they changed half way through 11. A buddy if nine bought his in Feb of this year and his is orange. I'm glad that I got the white. I like it way better than the orange.

(haven't read the whole thread so just my .02) IMO I like how squared off the front end is. Personally I don't see how it looks TOO much like the Tundra being the Tundra has that snub nose look. I went to a dealership in San Diego and looked at the new ones for quite a bit. Best part of that visit was when the sales man came up and goes "So are you interested in the Tacoma?" I said "Yea, but I like my paid off one." and after I pointed to it he proceeded to withdraw the sales pitch and ask about mods :D

I love my 11 but the changes on the inside of the 12 were nice additions. The one thing I didn't care for though was the steering wheel. It looks like an f150's steering wheel

I wasn't a big fan of the exterior on the 2012 until the other day. Pictures don't do them justice. They look really nice in person IMO

Now that I like. Get it in any color you want as long as it's black. Same color front is needed on this model.

I agree with andy2003. I was not a big fan of the 2nd gen. at first. Then it grow on me too. Now I love the look!! The front grill will take some getting useto. Iam sure it to will grow on me. Iam just glad that thay didnt make the whole truck look like the tundras and or the new 4runners. I dont think thay will ever grow on me.

Totally off subject, but when I saw your sig, I couldn’t help myself. The Beavers should get smoked this year.

My dentist paints this in the window of his office every year.

Nope, Front end looks horrible. Im a strict 2nd gen guy. 1st gens look good but not my style. 2nd gens take the cake, Also cant stand the look of the new 4runners or tundras.

I'll try to post some pics of my 2012 after I get the coilovers on it tomorrow. Got the tint done this morning and wheels and tires swapped at the dealership the day I drove it home. Getting leather in about a month after Roadwire finishes the new pattern.... THE SEATS ARE NOT EXACTLY THE SAME. They're great looking rigs and I have no regrets about trading in the '08 Radiant Red TRD Sport for this one aside from all the waiting for aftermarket interior accessories like roadwire, weathertech and scosche.

Yours is black right? Those are cool. The same color front (black) is really nice. You've made a decision I feel you'll be happy with for many years.

If you buy a color other than black, paint the grill and bottom air dam/fascia/foil the same color? Have the dealer do it for you? Post the pics?

I have enjoyed my 2009 since purchased new however was very excited to hear Toyota was planning a change in 2012. I waited patiently and when the big day came to actually see the "new design" I was dissapointed.

Honestly I feel it is a weak attempt from Toyota and could have been done much better in many ways. I actually went to the dealership last weekend with intentions of trading for a 2012 and after looking at one up close have decided to keep what I have.....sadly I am also considering a Rubicon however that may pass.

The front re-design looks out of balance in a way as if it sticks too far out from the radiator. Hard to explain in words but to me it just looks weird. It seems to be something some designer threw together in a rush just to have something new. Maybe a black headlight mod would help the new look a little however again for me it was so bad in person I am surely not going to buy one now.

I have a 1999 that I truly cherish and my 2009 has been great as well so I went to the dealership trying my best to remain loyal to Toyota. I walked away very dissapointed and without something much different in the future I will simply keep what I have or may trade my 09 for that 2012 Rubicon.

I have to agree with you 100% on this observation. Other vehicles, with what I consider are weak attempts at redesigns, may have their engines and chassis remain the same but get full interior and exterior modifications. This is just some light refreshing of the front end and some light interior modifications.

Pretty lame on Toyota - looks like they are just resting on their laurels having the small-mid size market wrapped up. Lucky for Toyota there is no real competition in this segment of the truck market.
