    Please tell me there are lift spindles for the 1st gen tacomas somewhere and I just haven't found them yet. I tried looking but all I found were for 2nd gen

    I wanted to get higher than three inches without using a drop bracket and spacers. But not so High like seven inches. I wanted the lift spindles and then run some icon ext length coilovers at about 1"-2" somewhere like that. Is there another way.

    First of all, if you're avatar is up to date, you're 4x4. You can't do spindle lifts on 4x4 trucks. Spindle lift are prerunners only.

    That means if you want more than 3" lift, you have to do a DB lift.

    You'd be best off with a set of aftermarket UCA's and extended length coilovers. You can get 3" without your CV's hating you and it will be more capable on trails than a DB lift will be.

    Ohh I c. I really do like the coilovers(because they are so much easier to adjust) compared to the billys and springs. What sizes would I be looking at for around 4-5 inch lift and wat spring rate should I be looking for

    That's the words I was scared of.
    I was looking at (before I had the spindle idea) icon extd coilovers with some TC UCA.
    But with these I'm still going to need a differential drop won't i. What else should I be looking for. I just wanted about another inch or so.

    My previous statement....

    You're not going to be able to get anything more than 3" out of coilovers.
    Spring rate desired depends on how much weight on your truck. I run 600# but I'm 4x4 and full LT and armour. You might want something a little lighter than 600# if you don't have all the other crap, but 600 is a good place to start.

    Diff drops are pretty much mandatory on a first gen on any lift 2.5" or higher. It's 30 bucks, a simple 1" spacer, and certainly helps the cv angles out. It's the second gen's they are worthless on.

    yea 3'' is the top of our CVs limit man. The billy 5100s with Eibach coils tend to run a bit higher then that, but you take a chance on blowing CVs.

    Ohh I didn't say anything about the 2nd gen thing haha. I was trying to avoid one of those because they add more things to the bottom. Causeing less play for under there. I understand that it could be fixed with bigger tires but I was just trying to avoid that. That's why I wanted the lift spindles(come to find out their only for 2wd) so much for that idea.

    You got the idea all wrong. The diff drop on the first gens will not lead to it being the low point. Belive me. It's the second gens where this is an issue.
    Factory skid plates or even aftermarket BudBuilt skids still clear with the 1" diff drop installed. Ask me how I know. :cool:
