I was washing my 2011 and noticed I have some bumper rust on my chrome bumper. I have 1000 miles on my truck. Anyone else have this? I'll be calling corp Monday before I bring it in. Dealership is kinda far to play around.

    I'll get pics soon

    Yea I've seen this.
My new Tacoma has rusted lug nuts with 1,100 miles.

There going to have to see it anyway before ordering one unless they have one in stock.

Some 2008 – 2010 model year Tacoma vehicles may exhibit a condition where the Rear Chrome
Bumper develops rust on the surface. An improved part has been made available to address this
condition for vehicles equipped with a Rear Chrome Bumper.

I didn't know that there was a TSB for it.

My 2010 had rust and I took it into the dealership. Initially the guy said it was surface rust and that I could "wash or rub" it off but took pictures to send to Toyota anyway. According to the story the manager looked at the pictures (before sending them to Toyota) and authorized the whole bumper to be replaced.

The rust was right around the license plate/license plate light section.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news here Kool-Aiders, but Toyota has been producing the same lame ass chrome bumpers right up to the end of 2011 run. There was no improvement, and the new ones also rust. I got 2 new ones. In Manitoba Canada, the chrome bumper is an annual warranty replacement item. Sad really.

It's rusting on the face. It's a bunch of specks, but it is clearly rust and it isn't rubbing off. Truck hit 1000 over the weekend. It will get fixed or someone will be getting yelled at.

Don't wash it with anything, make the fuckers replace it. They tried the same crap on me with my 2010. I didn't stand for it and I got a new bumper, which I promptly sprayed black because I knew it was the same crap bumper type that they took off. They claim they have a new supplier or process, but it's the same thing on the 11s so obviously not.
Get a new one and paint it up. Chrome sucks anyway.

Called, but was sent to voicemail. Will try again at 11... 12... etc until someone talks to me.

The location of the specks look as if they laid it down before they put it on. I've yet to pull anything and sure as heck never took it off.

Dude, that won't fix anything. Why keep a problem that will become bigger?

A brand new truck is rusting at just 1000 miles.

The edges of my bumper is rusting on my 2010 too. Small specks but there's more of them now and they won't come out with polish

They have to talk photos and send it off. I will just wait until the 5k oil change or if I am passing by a dealership (45min-1hr away), I'll stop. I have till 36k miles to get this taken care of.
