I'm selling my house in the spring and paying off the mortgage, credit card, my wife's Sentra and my Taco. When the dust clears we will be debt free and owning both vehicles. We'll have about 65 to 75 k in the bank and were moving into an appartment. We make about 100 k combined, have no kids, and we're in our fortys. The plan is to retire in about 8 to 10 years and winter in Florida cuz winter SUCKS! O and I guess I'll own the Taco by May.

cash is king, interest is wasted money in my eyes, if i could buy a house without paying interest i would plan to go my entire life with no debt.

Just picked up a 2006 about a month ago, so no its not paid off, got a great deal on my trade in and got a great interest rate, so my monthly payments are kind of a joke.

Plus no money out of pocket when I bought the truck.

    neglect, mostly.
see that's my "problem". i can't spend money on mods over like $20 knowing i still have to pay it off. its just my nature and how i was raised. . . .but for me, i bout it owing the bank $8k in december on a 3 year loan. as of last week im down to $5,600. i want to get it in that $4k neighborhood before i've owned it a whole year and paid off in 2 years total instead of 3.

Yea there is many ways to do it, I'm still power paying off my truck, a good 2k was required maintenance, needed oil changes, plugs, filters, winter tires for the messed up Xr tire sizing was the worst so far :(

fair fair. im certainly not trying to tell you how to spend your money. and im also guessing your situation is different from mine in terms of income. i work some during the school year, but never net anything. in the summer im 50+ hrs a week and trying to stuff my bank account. and during that time i do splurge on a few things.

I see trucks 10+ years old, and my question is how do you even get a loan? I have good credit, little debt, was offered an autoloan and house loan at insanely low rates, but could not finance a vehicle older then seven years, so how are you 10 year old vehicle guys still paying?!

I have a 99 and its paid, along with all the repairs and mods.

    That soudns.... HIGH
