I think too, that with the SEC and ACC (bigger ones at least) teams, you have larger, louder, hardcore diehard fans

I def see SEC fans having more of an "ego" so to speak about both their teams, and their conference

I was surprised to see O$U beating Illinois today. Right now the Big Ten is Wisconsin's to win or lose. Im afraid that the Badgers will get left out of the whole BCS title game if they win out. This next week against MSU will really show how good they are since MSU has/had the #1 defense (yardage wise I think) in the nation. Russel Wilson has been a key addition to that team.

On another note, ASU looks to be just as fast as Oregon tonight.

I'd love to see ASU beat Oregon. Don't know why...just don't like Oregon. No real reason.

I hate it any time OSU wins. The media is always on their nuts. I wouldn't be surprised to see them back in the top 25 since they beat a top 20 team just because of how the media loves them.

dwalden, my neighbor went to UGA so he is rubbing off on me. He watches the michigan games with me and I watch the UGA games with him. I just might have to make them my second favorite team.,lol He said today that if he had a choice to beat Florida or go to the sec championship game, he would pick beating Florida. Hopefully you guys will get both. That lead us into a huge debate about OSU/Mich and UGA/Florida. I assume the hate runs deep with you too?

That would be correct. I think I hate them so badly because in my life time, they have basically dominated us. It's just been one of those games we can't ever win. Since I'm on the GA/TN line, the UGA/UT game is huge for us every year, because I can get bragging rights on all my friends in Tennessee, and it's always been a rivalry, but it just doesn't compare to Florida. It was a beautiful sight a few years ago when we had 53 guys dancing in the end zone after Knowshon's TD...

I think that you guys have a really good chance of getting them this year. Hopefully Michigan can do the same with OSU. I think the GT/UGA game will be a tough one this year too.

What do you think about the "Legends" and "Leaders" sub-conferences? Why couldn't they have normal names?

Because they are retarded. I think it is horrible. Hell, I dont even know who is in which sub conference. You shouldnt have to remember that "Anyone that starts with a "M" or and "N" is in the Legends with the addition of Iowa."

I DO hope that someday, Michigan plays OSU in the final game of the season, then turns around and plays them again in the BIG TEN championship game. Would be cool to beat them twice in one year. Wont happen for a while though.

After this weekend's games, Alabama has the NCAA's top scoring defense (7 points per game), rushing defense (38.1 yards per game), and total defense (184.14 yards per game). I just happened across that stat in the paper after reading your post.

    Don't know who is #2.

I think it's due to more UGA fans watching than anyone else.

Why is it everybody is so quick to point fingers at our team/staff? Right after the game it started immediately. Until I hear what really went on I can't make a judgement. Just that the players jawing and the coaches come out to pull them apart and it got out of hand. That's all I see at this point. I am curious to find out what went on though. Couldn't see much on tv.

As far as the SEC east, I do hate that Latimore got hurt but I already thought with the way SC has been playing they will lose at least one against Ark or UF. If Latimore is out even more so. So my Dawgs do have a shot, but If they better play better against Florida. To me UF has the psychological advantage over us. Same apply's for us over Tech. Then Auburn is always a tough game too, no matter how each team is doing on a particular year. So I'm not taking anything for granted.

SEC Football: James Franklin Started It, but Todd Grantham Finished It

When a person has made a mistake in the past, our natural reaction is to blame them for any future altercations. As a result, many were quick to point the finger at Georgia Bulldog defensive coordinator Todd Grantham after tonight’s end of the game fiasco.

Tonight, after the Bulldogs had been engaged in a heated matchup with the Vanderbilt Commodores, the cameras caught Grantham and Vandy head coach James Franklin. I was at the 50 yard line and had a direct view. However, I wanted to wait until I got home to pass judgment.

On the way home, I figured the argument was initiated by Grantham. It had been clear throughout the game that the Commodores had thrown several questionable blocks without penalty. I figured that Coach Grantham, went to confront Coach Franklin.

After all, it was Coach Grantham who gave the choke sign to a Florida Gator field goal kicker last season. In his apology he noted that he lost control of his emotions. This must have been a repeat performance, right?

After further review, the answer is an emphatic "no."

I was able to have access to multiple films of the aftermath in my email. What I viewed on the film was shocking. It was Coach Franklin, not Coach Grantham that lost control of their emotions. After the game was over, as you can see in this photo, Franklin went after Bulldog safety Shawn Williams.

Williams had been called for two personal fouls during the game for aggressive play.

Franklin was pointing and yelling at Williams as he made his way to midfield. Grantham, who was simply involved in post-game handshakes, heard Franklin shouting. At that moment, Franklin started pointing and yelling at Grantham.

Unfortunately for Franklin, Grantham is a Bulldog who does not take well to his cage being rattled. Grantham went right back at Franklin and put his finger in his face as he scolded him and police, players, and coaches had to separate the two. After Grantham left, Franklin continued until coaches pulled him off the field.

247 Sports quoted Franklin as saying, "We just had a tough, emotional game and some things that were said that I didn’t think were appropriate. I went to find Coach Richt and didn’t find him, so I found one of the assistant coaches, and it didn’t go well. We’re not going to sit back and take it from anyone.”

Notice in Franklin's words, things were said that he did not think was appropriate. As a result, he went looking for the coaching staff. He had already predetermined that he was going to confront the staff.

Critics will say that Grantham should have walked away and set a better example. My response to those critics is to try walking in a coach’s shoe before pointing a finger.

Grantham’s quote, also found at 247, sports speaks volumes. “We’re all competitive guys. I’m happy with the victory, and I love my players. They bust their tail, and I was proud of the way they competed.”

Grantham was simply a coach protecting the people he loves. He was telling Franklin that he was not going to allow the young men he loves to be run over by a coach.

It was the Bulldogs version of what Oklahoma State head coach, Mike Gundy, did a few years ago when he lashed out reporters. Grantham was telling Franklin that he was a man and if he wanted a fight pick one with a man.

As a former coach, I say job well done, Coach Grantham!

Just heard Lattimore is out for the season with a torn ligament. Hate to see that. The East is really wide open, now.

ditto, not sure i like the gatorade bath deal, but there having fun and teams who have fun win so as long as they win it doesn't bother me so much

ditto, clemson fans know all to well what "pulling a clemson" is and this game could of been a classing "pulling a clemson"

nope vandy is fairly legit. ole miss and kentucky are really the only trash teams in the SEC and even they can sneak up on you. your close game with them is understandable. Now if bama didn't kill ole miss like it did then that'd be a surprise.

wow too funny, i personally hate that gator chop

I've seen where there was some talk of Vandy making some cheap blocks, didn't catch them on tv, but if this is the case then maybe that sparked Grantham's rage? I could see this happening if true and the refs not calling it.

Just thinking ahead of what could happen in the Cocktail party with the fire from Grantham and what I've seen of Muschamp, Particularly if we do win. Especially since Muschamp guaranteed a win over us.

Also see that we climbed back in the top 25 at 24. Not sure how to feel about that.
