Is anybody else getting like 10 phone calls a day from this number 908-603-0387. They call 24 hrs a day, verizon just told me they can't block it. It's so annoying, anybody got tips how to stop it?

Who is it that calls? Have you told them that your going to murder their whole family if they call again? That should work.

U can block numbers with verizon. Go to your online account @ vzw.com. On the right you will see a little area with "quick links" go down that list till you see "set usage controls" Look till you see something like blocked numbers. You can block up to 20 numbers at a time, all for only 5 bucks a month

Like BioMed said - National Do Not Call List

I recently had a credit card company bugging me about several missed payments that the pervious owner of my cell number had missed. They were leaving very nasty messages about the fact that Mr. X had not paid his bills and he needed to do so quickly, blah blah blah.

I called the credit card company several time and said I had know clue who this person is and that I am not responsible for their bad debt. After the third call I made it painfully clear if they called me again I would turn matter over to the NYS Attorney General for harassment.

Well, wouldn't you know the calls stopped.

That's crazy; I thought they weren't allowed to leave messages with info about the accounts. I could be wrong though, it's happened once before. :D

    Ya,

No sooner did I type the above message and I receive another call. This time it was an automatic message with a phone number, reference number and the name of the person.

    On to plan "B"

    NYS Attorney General.

That sucks. Hope you saved the message, I believe they can get in all kinds of trouble for leaving that kind of information. Good luck.

I can explain what is going on because I just went through something similar, I kept getting calls on my work cell from some time share company wanting to speak to some guy about his account, no matter how many times I explained it too them that this is a work number and that person has never had this number the calls kept coming.

Finally I got a call from a lady and I asked her why they keep calling this number even though I have told them numerous times that the person doesn't exist at this number.
She explained that the number is called by an auto dialer when an agent pulls up the persons name and they don't even see the number they are calling.
She asked what number I had and deleted it off the system and it worked, the calls all stopped

I have tried this, but with no luck yet.

I tried to put in a request to stop the calls, but these dick heads wanted a ton of info from me including my drivers license number and SS number. I said no way am I giving this info out.

I received a couple of messages on my answering machine for (can't remember the name - but I'll say Jimmy Jones) They did an intro about some crap and then said if you keep listening you are admitting you are Jimmy Jones and yada yada yada. I listened since they left it on MY answering machine. It was about some over due bill or some garbage. But I thought it was funny about the "if you continue listening to this you are admitting you are Jimmy Jones". I'll listen to any freaking message you leave on MY machine!! Got two or three of them and then no more.

For all of those calls that I get, once I actaully get to the point of speaking to a live person (usually someone I can't understand) I just keep pressing buttons. They finally get pissed off and ask me what I'm doing and I just tell them "I keep pushing one for English but all I get is your dumb ass that I can't understand". They don't like that too much and usually hang up. They keep calling but it's fun.

You know nothing of odd phone calls.

I've had angry black dudes call and threaten to kill me at 3am for hooking up with their girlfriend because I answered my own phone a couple days after I got my new #.

I don't take kindly to being threatened at 3 am over some girl I don't even know. Its amazing how quickly someones tone can change when they realize they just pissed off the wrong redneck at 3 am...

I got a check at work for a student... but I don't know who. There was no name, no nothing on the check but the company name. I found the number on the internet and called.

I COULD NOT GET A PERSON!! All I got was "press this for this" and "press this for that" Doesn't a LIVE human being answer the phones anymore???? I finally got someone's voice mail and now I just have to wait and see if they call me back.

I have been getting calls from California, Indiana, Georgia, and Maryland. Most of them just let me know that my vehicle warranty is about to be up, I guess they know I am going to drive 75,000 miles pretty soon.
