That's what I am saying. These skeletons were purporting to show the entire transition, no middle-men (so to speak). I think my later post covers the neanderthal question; there were other creatures on earth before man that were similar, but they were separate from man.

Interesting. I have actually said the same thing about the Scientific Method and how that can be limiting in that area. I guess you could use that advise for just about everything.

Anway, carry on. I have gotten some very usefull insight to some of your responses here, as I am sure other members have.

I disagree, obviously. As to the similarities of different religions, and similarities between Christianity and other religions (the flood account for instance is found in different cultures/religions - the symbol for flood in Chinese is 8 people on a boat), there is a very legitimate explanation.

After the flood, the Genesis account tells of the tower of Babel. The languages were confused at this time, but the memories of the people were left in tact, thus similarities of some stories in other cultures. Additionally, there is the influence of Satan. Consider, if you were going to pass a counterfeit bank note, would you use Monopoly money or make as close a copy as possible? Satan is a crafty person and he works hard to hide the message of the Bible by the use of counterfeit religion.

According to the Bible account, Satan was in existence at the time the first humans were created so he has had the entirety of human history to study us. He knows what works and is highly intelligent. As such he is very capable of misleading mankind.

While god is busy doing something more important right? Always an illogical explanation to explain why god's plan is so screwy. The mysterious ways idea just gets worse and worse.

I'm confused. Are you saying science and satan are one in the same? As in science and evolution are designed by satan to mislead mankind?

It's interesting that you indirectly call Buddism counterfeit and misleading by Satan, without actually understanding what the religion is all about. When you take Buddha out of the picture, Zen Buddism is about respect for the Earth, which all living things come from, and respect for all living things. While I don't practice Buddism, it makes sense to me more than any other religion.
I'm laughing to myself, because if someone like yourself actually took the time to learn about it, you'd probably say Buddha WAS Satan. Although, unlike God or Satan, he was supposedly a real walking person, not some aura in the sky that we're all supposed to have faith is really there.

I'm confused. When did I say that? Again, I have no problem with science. I believe Satan is an actual spirit creature that rebelled against God. He is not science nor is he some abstract concept of evil, but an actual living creature that knows his time is short.

Your claim is that anything which doesn't acknowledge the Bible is put here to distract us.... Science doesn't recognize, reference, or pay tribute to the Bible or any other religion whatsoever, never even comes close. So, by your statements, it's the work of Satan and a mere distraction.

None of what is happening today was part of God's design. Man caused the problem when he rebelled. Answering the question of right to rule is of paramount importance. The question must be answered once and for all and God is allowing time to answer that question.

Once this is accomplished, then God's purpose (having humans live on earth without the violence crime and war that we see today) can move forward. I say purpose, because God does not plan, but purposes. The difference? A plan relies on a series of steps being completed. If one of those steps fails, the plan fails. A purpose is a stated objective with flexibility in how it is accomplished. Satan, Adam and Eve delayed but did not derail God's purpose.

No mystery here. This is all related in the pages of the Bible.

Not what I am saying at all. The context of my post was clearly directed at false religion, not science. If I felt that way I would be the biggest hypocrite sitting here typing on my laptop.

I have taken some time to look at Buddhism and have spoken to numerous Buddhists, Mormons, Catholics, Baptists, Mennonites, etc throughout my life. Most I have spoken to are very polite and kind individuals.

As to Buddhism, there is absolutely nothing wrong with respect for the earth. I just do not agree with it. I do not say that Buddha was Satan.

Your reasoning ignores so many other things... And just makes no sense... Your only logic, if you want to call it that, is that "things don't have to make sense to us, because they make sense to God"

Things we know are inevitable - the magma chamber under yellowstone will erupt again and probably wipe out all life on earth - global warming will continue and contribute to detroying the earth - Famine and poverty will continue as population uncontrollably rises until half of all people born die of starvation or until some other solution or intervention happens.

Those are some things that come to my mind, and according to you God will just make all those things go away as soon as he's happy with the actions of mankind.

Ignorance really is bliss I suppose

please explain which religions are counterfeit, and why they fall into that category. I ask this because you make it sound like you believe Satan is the mastermind behind every religion except yours.

I am not answering for docbrown, as he is shown that he is more than capable and more articulate than myself and others in this thread, but it is not uncommon for any religion to think another is "counterfeit". I don't see an issue with it, who are we to decide if that is wrong?

Everything is part of your god's design, you don't get to say he made everything but since they rebelled he's not responsible for a very difficult world. Man rebelled a few days after being created, what a lame Purpose.

God does work in mysterious ways, so mysterious that humans have to come up with bizarre interpretations to explain how this god purposes but doesn't plan. His Purpose is screwy then, Good grief.

Until satan is gone god's purpose aint gonna happen, what's he waiting for again?

Bizarre interpretations can also be shared by those that do not have or understand faith. I don't have it, but it doesn't mean it is bizarre...it's what they believe in. I can see how an Athiest, for example, may think this is most bizarre. People of different religious beliefs can probably understand it more as they have more in common, faith. I don't understand the problem here.
