ReadyLift vs. FatBobs

So are the readylift and fatbobs both 2.75" lifts

 

yes pretty much the same fatbobs is cheaper that the ready lift and you have an option of getting an aal and longer rear shocks with the kit

 

Get the longer leaf spring. You need every bit of help to not have a stiff rear end (no homo). If I hit a pot hole it feels like I hit a boulder.

 

if you just want to raise a basic access cab a little how much lift would it be?would it create a stiffer ride?i was thinking i could use the rims off new truck and go taller 15 tire?what size would that be if lifted a little(1.5 or so)?thanks

 

from what i've read and asked around. its a 2.75 inch lift. meaning the spacer up front will be the 2.75 and the rear will be 1.5 so that its level. fatbobs is the route i'm gonna take when it comes to my 5 lugger since you can get the kit with rear shocks and its realatively inexpensive. it rides just about stock if not better. I'm not sure about tires though. I know neslerrah has 33's on his reg cab 5 lug last time i checked.

 

Ok so Im new to lifting trucks so bare with me I have a few questions. First if I use either fat bobs or ready lift do I need to replace the rear shocks? Also I keep reading that the fat bobs come with replacement shocks but can't find that on their site. Is there different fat bobs lifts for 5 lugs? Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the links. So is the first one really worth a $100 dollars more? I pretty much do highway and beach driving.

 

No prob. I'm not sure but I think the first one is the sst ready lift. And the second one with the solid piece front spacer is fat bobs. I don't have a 5-lug just like seeing all the badass little trucks in here, but to me they both look the same besides the obvious difference of the fatbobs lift being a solid piece spacer and the ready lift not being one. Also the fatbobs let's you choose between a long or short aal.

 

if someone could help me figure out which to go with between these two that would be great. i blew out a stock rear shock wheeling around so im going ahead and getting my set up. however all shocks front and rear will be replaced by bilsteins or however you say it by summer. is the first fatbob lift more $ due to the one piece aluminum spacer? possible issues with the cheaper of the two shown? im going to look a little silly considering i have 255/45/20's right now, however i can only budget one thing at a time and wheels/tires isnt it and need that shock fixed

 

called and got my own question answerd. the only difference is the the front spacer, one is steel the other is aluminum. He said both will withstand abuse and what not just that the steel will get oxidized before the aluminum spacer. I found it cool he didnt pressure me towards the more pricey product.

 

With the fat bobs lift you get new rear shocks and it costs less. Might as well hit two birds with one stone.

 

I bought the readylift for 220 new, than bought some used bilstein Trd rear shocks. Idk about you guys but I notice a stiffer ride, less travel, and bump steer. You guys have any of these problems? Getting the tc mid travel asap

 

I still have the stock shocks for the rear. feels like my rear end hit a 3 foot pot hole every time I go over a speed bump.

 

Are you running the rear aal with stock shocks?

Oooooh your shocks are maxed out broski I don't have trouble with my rear just the front. You can find used Trd shocks pretty cheap on craigs list or here. People that get new lifts eager to sell their stock stuff with low miles

So, I'm running 235 75r15's on my 2011 access cab 5 lugger. Do you think if I put on a fat bobs lift it will look ok with these tires? I just got them like 200 miles ago. Thanks for any input.
