Left arm popped semi outta socket today on staggered push ups. Hurts in the collar bone, and below the rotator cuff in the muscle, but nothing deep in the shoulder or on the top of the shoulder below the collar bone...ideas?

I'm gonna lay off most things that involve excessive shoulder exercise for a few weeks and ice and heat it. Range of motion is normal, grip strength is normal, no bruising on the outside, does not hurt to touch.

Use light weights to strenthen the shoulder, stretch it out too plus the ice and heat.

quick question, took a firefighter fitness class this weekend, before i took it my heart rate was 116, i did 2 rounds which was the same as everyone else, however i used 1/4 a tank of a steel 1/2 hour bottle, while most people consumed a 1/2 tank of a 1 hour carbon fiber bottle, at the end my heart rate was 140, and after 1 minute at rest my heart rate was 130

so it starts off high and doesnt really increase, i also dont use alot of air, what does this mean?

shouldn't be too bad... sounds like you need to strengthen the rotator cuff muscles though. very light internal / external rotation with rubber tubing or band for now till you feel the rotator cuff muscles burn, and start to strengthen the stabilizer muscles as it heals up.

i always warm up before press-type workouts with rotator cuff exercises.

after i dislocated my shoulder, i had no strength left in that arm for quite a while. i couldn't even shampoo my hair with my left arm for a week or two after it happened.

i'd take a low dose anti-inflammatory for a couple of days, like 250 mg of naproxen three times a day if it's hurting. that'll help reduce the swelling and help the pain. take it with food to protect your stomach.

    heal up good, aaron!

if you consume less oxygen and have a lower heart rate than everyone else, this means you're in better shape. your cardiovascular system is more efficient if you're doing the same amount of work as them.

since your max heart rate is somewhere around 200 bpm, the fact that it was only 140 meant you weren't exerting yourself very much. heart rate recovery (how quickly your heart rate drops after you stop exercising), however, is also a measure of your cardiovascular conditioning. the faster your heart rate drops, the better your conditioning.
