Mud Tires

I have had the Hankook Dynapro MT's for about 2 years in 265/70/17 , they are a good all around MT , but my next tire will be a 255/80/17 km2 .

Better in snow .

 

i just put Trailcutter radial M/T 33x12.5r15's on my truck and they are evil as hell. i paid 300 for four tires used

 

MTZ's are 2nd lightest to the km2's. Sidewalls hold up better from what iv seen. Grip is the shit too. I love mine.


I hear the maxxis sidewalls arnt all that great either, I wanted a set and shy'd away. You also have Nitto Trail grapplers... but they're heavy as a cow

 

Ditto, but I don't think you'll find them for under $200 a tire.

Have to check my mileage and this pic is when they were new.... but they are holding up well....probably in the 40 to 45 k range and 3 years...

 

I'm up to 50k on my KM2s, awesome tires, but like all bfg's they balance like a turd.

How are you liking the Authorities? I am leaning toward the KM2's but I might be tempted by a sweet deal.

KM2's, I would say MTZ's but dont think you can get them for under 200. We have had good luck so far with Treadright GaurdDogs on a suburban we wheel, but lots of people dont like that route.

Cheapest mud tires around here, $820 out the door. Closest option was BF Goodrich A/T's for $800, or Buckshots for $860

 

i had swampers on an old school ranger i had i liked them they where loud as shit but i like that sort of thing i guess.

now one thing i can say is i did not enjoy the sidewalls cracking and splitting for no apparent reason. i take very very good care of my trucks and know every spot on them and it's not very trust inspiring to come out side the next day and find deep cracks in the side wall of your new tires.

after that experience i thought them to be an inferior tire made by a back woods company lol. i like their tires aggressive tread pattern but, someone else needs to produce them using their rubber compound for them to ever be considered by me again.

hope this helps btw i had replaced three tires at my expense and they all cracked eventually for some yet unknown reason.

 

I've got the Treadwright Guard Dogs on my truck. I like them so far.

 

ive seen scott run these on the trails and they grab great offfroad..not sure how they ride on the road though

 

i bought my buckshots 265/70/17 for $600 new and $60 to mount and balance. i love local hookups.

 

Just ordered a set for my Taco!...They look good!!
