Floor Jack

Any suggestions on a floor jack for my PreRunner? I have an older one that only goes up 14", and that is not enough to lift the front wheels off of the ground. I do not want to spend a lot of money, I only use it for tire rotations, and I put jack stands under it while I'm doing the rotation. I've used my OEM bottle jack a few times, but that is getting old. A floor jack is so much easier.

What is the height I need in order to lift the front?

if you have the room get a nice floor jack, I wanted one but the wife bought me a 3T with the removable handle, I wanted a fully attached one since I now have the room, but oh well, it works.
I believe mine raises to 19 or 21" with the supplied "SUV" extension. it lifts the front of my DCLB 4x4 with no problems.

2x4's on your current jack also works to get some extra height if its just for occasional use.

 

Arcan floor jack from Northern Tool is a good jack at a good price. I think they also have them at Costco sometimes.

Ive had that sears jack you posted for about 3 years now and it just started leaking but it has been abused and left outside so it should last you haha

I got that Sears 3 ton jack on sale as a package deal with stands and a creeper a couple years back...so far everything works good.

 

Got em as a package deal for Christmas last yr. Gf got em for me at Sears. They work great.

 

I'm in the same situation. I have an aluminum racing jack from sears but the seals leak so it won't hold. Need to get a new jack, was thinking of getting something in the 3 ton range aluminum as well so I can stow it in my bed for long trips or whatever. Although I do have plans to purchase a Hi-Lift.

 

I usually just use wood and a shovel. As long as it holds it up, it will be OK.

 

just put an extension on it.
