Thanks for the input... I wasn't sure if there was anybody on the east coast that fabbed something for maybe $500 to $550. The labor is what jacks it up, and understandably so.

This is for the front. I have some big heavy tubing I'm going to use and make my own back bumper because it's easier, and the stuff I got is too heavy for a front.

So one other thing I was having second thoughts about. For what I'd be spending. Do you guys think I should take advantage of the price, or start getting my pieces for my lift ? If I got my lift, it's going to be an unknown amount of time before I'll be able to get wheels and tires.

Congrats on the promotion, but always remember, you have to come in being hard, then let up a little. You can never come in easy and then tighten up because no one will respect you. I learned that from experience....

I say go for it...you can always troll on the BST threads and pick up a deal on some used ones...I have a buddy that is willing to let his FJ wheels go...all 5 probably for a steal with new tires....

    Bumper or lift ????

I really want to start changing up the look of the truck, but for around $600 I can get my OME/Bilstein lift components and have some left to put towards a new leaf pack.

    I hate decisions

I say lift...you can do that easily...bumper will make you sag in the front and there will be a long wait. Lift will change your truck over night and you can do some mild wheeling...

Ok.... one other thing.... If i installed the lift before I had wheels and tires, would the truck be more unsafe and tipsy ? I know it's going to raise my center of gravity and I won't be able to drive like a mad man on off-ramps. But would it look overly retarded and be risky driving like that, or should I get the components, and have them on standby for later down the road when I get some mudders ????

Not at all, sway bar removal can have that effect tho

And im with these guys lift first, on the offroading aspect our stock bumper approach angles arent that bad... Departure on the other hand are pretty poor, so a rear bumper would be a beyter starter on the offroading aspect

if you are going OME or Bilstein, ride quality is good, and should not have any issues.

it will look fine, until you can dish out the bones for tires...

I ran around with stock tires and lifted 3inch for quite awhile. Didn't look bad..I do think though matte 17s look better than my 16s did

I can get the 4 shocks and front springs for less than $500, so maybe I'll do Shackles and an AAL until I can get the rear leaf pack
