Guys, do me a favor and PM me your email address so I can include you in emails. I've already got quite a few people on the email list and don't want to forget anyone.

Ok, so I need opinions. I got home Thursday night around 7 from work (with the Camry) and then went out for some beers with a friend (took the Tacoma). When I went to work Friday morning, there was a dent / scrape down the drivers side of the Camry on both front and rear door. I was parked directly behind my neighbor's driveway who has a 17 year old daughter who just got her license. I haven't seen her car there since (her parents are divorced and she spends time with each). Today I got home and saw her car there and noticed just after that her and her father went out. So me being the stealthy detective I am went over and looked and sure enough her bumper has a couple of scrapes and you can see where it hit something. I also measured and it's at the same height as my door dents / scrapes. Now, I've noticed her father always backs in his driveway so it wouldn't be him. She always pulls in forward so I'm assuming she was backing out and hit the car Friday morning cause she usually leaves when it's still dark and it was raining.

So, how do I approach him? Ironically my wife did the exact same thing about 6 months ago. Knowing it was the right thing to do, I left a note on the guys door right away and owned up to it.

    What do you guys think?

That sucks! I would proceed with caution and put all the info out there and see what the father does. If you give him the same info you just gave us and I was him I would pressure my daughter to fess up and if she didn't I would pay for the damage regardless then ground her ass :D

Is it a repetitive knocking or does it sound like something's shifting into place and staying there? I forget if you're 4wd or not.

Strange that it only happens in reverse.

Why not make a thread with updates like when the date/location are decided? And maybe a list of who's going from TW and how many total. I think you would get more interest from here that way.

    PM on its way.

It's funny -- I honestly feel a little weird offering you advice since you know these trucks as well as anyone.

I would check the front axles for movement in the CVs, the front driveshaft for play in the CVs (hit up those zerks while you're under there), and try spinning the front wheels with the truck in 2wd to see if the driveshaft is turning.

I *think* the 4wd activator hooked to the front diff disengages the front axles from the driveshaft in 2wd. It's worth checking to see what's turning when the vehicle's in motion.

I was getting a clunk in reverse/forward and it was my LCA BJ, but your truck shouldn't be having those issues.

How many miles do you have on it?

Did you check vertical play on the wheel while it was lifted off the ground? Maybe wheel bearings

Hard for me to know because my whole front end was making noise and just about everything needed replacing besides the inner tie rods.
