    yuppers, so 72 hrs straight in 6 days, then 6 off. which i'll end up working about 3 of those 6 anyways, but 8 n 4 is way better then 11 n 3's. + the 8 n 4 pays more :D

    Don't worry, they discovered small power drills are more effective then needles, muuuch safer :D

    Also, in order to speed the rate of collection, they now use a vaccum system, sucks out the pint 'o blood in 10 seconds. so they can get you outta the chair and get the next guy in and ready to go

    I remember hearing something about using 5000 hp vac trucks.... probably just a rumour though, don't worry buddy

    I remember giving plasma. They use this huge ass needle. I never had a problem with it, but i remember seeing someone freak out. They pulled the needle from their arm and blood started squirting across the room. I swear it was at least 10' each beat of the heart. :D

    this reminds me that I should bank my blood, I have the rarest blood type there is (AB-). according to wiki 0.5% of Canadians have my blood type, so if I were to lose alot of blood I would be F'd.

    O- is the one they really want. They can use that for a blood tranfusion for any blood type.

    They will take care of that. A simple test and they can tell what blood type you are.

    as I understand it, I can recieve red blood cells from any type, but can only donate red blood cells to others with AB-, and I can only receive plasma from others with AB-.

    i believe you are correct. o- is a universal donor, ab- is a universal recipient for blood cells.

    It really isn't that bad. I gave plasma for 3 years in college. Just don't go out drinking afterwards. You become a really cheap drunk :anonymous:
