The biggest issue I have found with the Tacoma is the cruise control on/off. Does anybody else find it annoying that you have to turn on the cruise control every time you turn the truck on and off? Also has anybody heard of a fix for this annoying problem?

My past vehicles, there was an on/off button, but once you turned it on you could turn the engine on and off and the cruise control would stay on.

I kinda like it, if i don't need it on then i just leave it off, sort of have it in the back of my head that if it stays on its thinkin, and if its thinkin, it can break. But yeah, I always forget to turn the nob off in my Tahoe, and turn it off the second i realize its on, because of my way of thinkin, LOL.

i also find this very annoying too. this is the first vehicle i've had work like this and it sucks. hopefully somebody has a method to "remember" whether the cruise was on or off

Yeah, I find it quite disturbing and terribly tiring to push that damn little button every time I want to use cruise control. How will I ever survive.

All of my vehicles as well.

I don't mind turning it on/off every time. I mean...... how hard is it to push the button in? You've gotta SET the cruise anyway and the on/off is right there......?? It probably takes less than 5 calories to press it again....

damn, i have had 9 cars in 11 years and they were all the same way, i don't use it that often so I don't care. it is only the push of a button, just see if you can wire it on all the time if it bugs you that much.

 Ok this one can go in the mod section as cheap and will fix that annoying cruise thing..

First go out into the garage....get a beer. Drink

then find an old shovel and cut 3 feet of the handle off.

Then drink 8 more beers...(Might need them for the next step)

now drive.......when up to highway speed and ready to engage cruise just jam one end of the stick on the gas pedal and the other on the front of the seat....

Easy fix won't even have to touch the annoying cruise button again.

that is the best idea i have heard of in a long time, why mess with wires when you can just shove a stick in the gas pedal.

I do this all the time, but with a little twist. Instead of a "stick", I use my leg and foot. Seems to work well for now.

I have a 03 Toyota Highlander and its like that. I don't think the cruise control is meant to come on when you start and it goes off every time you touch the brake.

How much do you want to bet that someone here in SC has tried that?

just curious to see all the "fixes" :D

I've always wondered how I could crank up the taco in the driveway and automatically peel-out at cool 65mph without an ounce of effort.

Well once you figure out this big problem maybe you can figure out how to get the headlights, radio and the wipers to automatically come on when you need them that way you will not have to waste the time and effort turning them on.

Please tell me your kidding about the cruise control???
