    ^ Thanks!

I haven't really looked into it. All I know is this can become a money pit as well. LMAO. I have too many money pit toys. Thats no good. LOL.

Everything suspension wise on upgrade was Brand New and never used yet. Parts alone were $800+ for the suspension & other upgrades. Bike Retailed at $1200.

The guy sold it to me for $700 and the bike was Mint with a recent Tune Up.

    I couldn't be more happier!

Cheapest I found a Brand New RockShox Sektor RL Front Shock was $328 Shipped On Ebay

FOX Rear RP23 was $370 Shipped on Ebay.

I feel my new bike was money well spent.

    real quick folks,

i have an '06 gary fisher mullet HT,

with a Kenda Blue Groove K 26x2.5 on the front, and a Kenda Small Block 8 26x2.5 in the rear.

Now the front has about half its life left, but the sides are worn from sun rot. What do you guys think for a sandy/deserty/rocky environment with occasional forest terrain? Same? I like it, but just switched to the kenda small block in the rear and LOVE it so wondering if theirs anythig better for the front.

I would like to get into mountain biking, I want to buy a used bike around $250 or so to see if I like it before I drop any big money on the sport. I'm 5'10", 175 pounds. What size bike do I need and what kind of bike can I get for $250?

This just opened about 5 minutes from my home and I want to take full advantage of it.

nice looks like youve got the perfect opportunity to start.

as far as size goes i think a medium would be fine for you. so probably around a 17". i recommend you just get a test ride before you get it. as far as what kind of bike you can get...your probably gonna be looking at a specialized hardrock, trek 4300 and similar bikes. craigslist is probably your best bet for a bike in that price range. i would just be patient since the season is coming to an end soon and there will probably be more bikes up for sale.

here is a good bike http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/947664/ in your price range, although it might be a tad small for you. check that website they always have stuff for sale
