    You pay for them there, and give them your rebate staples card, and they send you in the mail a store credit rebate, which you can use to buy more staples stuff, or do what i'm gona do. Use them on gift cards staple sells to other stores like bestbuy, homedepot, etc. Yes practically free, you just have to be patient on waiting for the rebate to return, Usually like 6 weeks, but it's for the purchase price of the batteries, minus tax.
