So I was heading to work this morning and was taking off from a stop and my truck wouldn't go. It felt as the my brakes were on. After a little persuasion ie taking it out of first re engaging the clutch and giving it a little more acceleration it took off. It did this several times. I did just replace the front brake pads about a week ago with no problems until now. I pulled over n touched the front rotors n rear drums. They were warm to the touch but not too hot. My truck is a DCSB 4x4 6 speed. Any ideas. I didn't take any brake fliud out when i replaced the pads just manually depressed the calipers. Could that b an issue? Maybe parking brake?

did the rear squat or raise up?if it raised up,its the front brakes,if it squated its the rear brakes.

I want to say it dove forward. Talked to a guy, he told me that brake systems are closed. When I changed my pads I didnt open the brake fluid reservoir thus creating a negative vacuum in the system...apparently in brake system there is an equalizer. This might engage the front brakes:confused:

    nope

If the reservoir gets to full it just pees over the MC and down the frame.

I would definitely recheck your work.
Did you clean the slider area where your pads ride or did you have to force the pads into that area ????????

When I replaced the pads I pressed the 2 pistons back with my fingers then slid the pads right in. I'm at work today so I won't b able to check them out until tomorrow

    Ok.

As a suggestion before you pull it apart drive around the neighborhood and see if you can duplicate the problem. If it happens, run home and jack up the front end and see if you can spin the tires easily. if they are ok go to the back and try.

Just make sure everything is free and not binding up.
I have seen calipers seize up after pad replacement. your pushing the pistons back and if there's crud or sediment it can cause a piston to stick. Might not happen right away.

Tundras, Sequioa's, and 4 Runners are known for seized pistons around here. Tacoma's , not so much.
