Squeakin leaf springs

A couple of weeks ago i noticed a small squeaking noise coming from the rear of my truck.... at first i thought that it might be my u joint going bad but that turned out not to be the case..... it progressively got worse until last night i took a whole can of WD-40 to my leafs.... it fixed the prob for now but my question is whats caused this. Is WD-40 going to be a permanant fix? anyone else had a problem with this. Thanks for yalls input

 

try some grease... Search for this topic because I think someone had this same issue a few weeks ago

 

I tried white lithium spray greese didnt work to well

 

If you cant get rid of it I think you can just take them off and grease them. Ive never done it but I know whenever you add a leaf your supposed to grease it. So maybe throwing some fresh stuff on there will cure it.

 

nope wd-40 will not fix it permantely

you can buy new bushings for ur leavesprings and then grease the hell outta them and that should fix it
but idk havent triied that yet

 

Ok then try new bushings like someone said above me. That will keep them from moving too much.

 

instead of using the spray grease get the grease thats in the tube and smear it on your bushings.... Unless that would be a bad idea.

 

if its the bushings themselves.......you will need to take the bolts out/undo the springs and use some antiseize or a good tacky grease on them.................and if its between the leafs, wash really well with a pressure washer and then try and pack some grease into the springs best you can..................and again, use a good tacky grease.
