How to Remove fender flares

How do you remove the fender flares without breaking the clips? I can see one of the clips is broken from the large dent a deer left on the side of my truck when it ran into me last night. I want to pull off the flare without breaking anymore clips to make sure there isn't anymore damage that is hidden by the flare. This is the 3rd collision with a deer in 4 years

 

Use a gentle touch and take your time. But no matter what you do, some of the clips are going to break, man. Sorry.

Three deer in four years? You need to call your counties Department of Transportation and tell them to move those deer crossing signs to a less traveled area so the deer will know where it's safe to cross!
