You're original post was a little unclear. IMO good thing you were CCing, just in case. Maybe you can get a restraining order on him?

well you do have a point there in my town there is alot of activity like this. every so often you hear of people being shot by concealed weapon carriers, during standoff robbery anyhting like that. i guess thats why i have a different view on his situation. personally never shot anyone but had my gun drawn untill police showed up

To be quite honest it scares me to death to know I have the power to take a life like that if the situation came up. It's a big responsibility and again I hope it never happens.

I would definitely pursue a restraining order or at the very least keep an extra eye open. His buddy might talk him up to coming back.

Well, all I have to say is that the OP did the right thing. Roosevelt said it best, that you should 'speak softly and carry a big stick'. And you did exactly that.
You kept your cool and called the Police to handle it instead of taking out your weapon or getting involved with them.

The only thing I would have done differently is not drive home, but there wasn't a lot of options as far as protection on a bike. If you were in a car, you could have parked in a parking lot, and stayed in it.

OP made a good choice. You got to remember, no matter how much heat your in with your state of mind-- never use deadly force in a situation where it is not required. Unless he is coming at you with a knife or drawing a gun, threats are not enough to just pull out your gun and start having at it...if that was the case the streets would be littered with bodies.

if someone tried to run me over on my motorcycle i would have thrown the bike down and drew my weapon, a vehicle can be classified as a weapon, especially when they try to run you over

this coming from someone that spends plenty of time on 2 wheels, say what you want, my life is worth more than some moron in a suv trying to prove how "cool" they are

It's people like you who ruin the names of responsible gun owners. People with CC's hope they never have to use it, if they get one hoping to use it they are idiots and do not need to have a cc or a gun. They get one in case of push comes to shove and they feel that their lives are threatened they have the power to stop the offender. GA has a "Castle Doctrine" so technically as soon as that guy stepped onto his property OP had the legal right to shoot him dead, me personally I would have done the same thing that to OP did call the proper authorities let them handle it and hope that I wouldn't have to use deadly force while waiting on LEO's to show up.

op, sounds like you did the right thing...

some were questioning what grounds one could "shoot" at the aggressor... that is very tricky it seems, ...technically (here in OH), you're justified if you believe death or severe bodily harm is imminent.. one other thing to consider, ..is you want to keep a distance and not get entangled, because you have to maintain weapon retention...
