Dude, team effort. He is too much for me to handle by myself.

And there is such a thing as a wreck lass:

NORMAL MODE: 'TRAC' (limited slip by way of brakes and engine regulation). TRAC improves the ability of a truck to accelerate without one tire spinning, like on a wet surface from a stop or turning.

Press the VSC button once changes TRAC to 'AUTO LSD'. Toyota also calls this the 'TRAC OFF MODE'. In reality it is TRAC, but without the engine output regulation... uses the brakes only, to transfer power from a tire that would spin to a tire that has traction.

AUTO LSD is a 'stronger' limited slip than TRAC... designed to get a 2WD unstuck if it is in a place where just one tire is spinning.

Press and hold down the VSC button WHILE STOPPED for 3-5 seconds will turn off TRAC and VSC for open differentials... should you need to spin the one tire.

I beg to differ based upon my personal experiences and many others experiences when I was with them. Trac has gotten them and me much farther up then LSD on loose sand hill climbs.

All forms of LSD are "automatic" by definition thus anyone with LSD has ALSD.

Maybe I'm getting the terms incorrect :notsure:

If you are in TRAC, as soon as a tire spins when you accelerate, you can feel the engine cut out... in AUTO LSD, there is much more engine power to the rear... I actually get a posi-traction feel (both tires kicking sand) when I accelerate in AUTO LSD. In TRAC, only one tire kicked sand, and it wasn't as high as AUTO LSD.

Now just maybe, I notice this more being an Off Road 4WD with the hydraulic brake booster? All other Tacomas have only a vacuum brake booster...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but even with the ALSD on, vsc will still kick in and limit power right? Over 30mph or something..

Didn't you read my little info bit earlier?

TRAC in H2 is limited slip via brakes and engine power regulation.
AUTO LSD (in H2) is limited slip with brakes only... no power reduction.
TRAC in H4 is limited slip with brakes only... no power reduction.

TRAC in H4 and AUTO LSD do the same function to limit wheel spin, has full engine power.
TRAC in H2 is different, has less engine output.

In my experience, there's a big difference between TRAC and auto LSD on wet pavement. With auto LSD, I hear one tire spin for a fraction of a second, then the system reacts, and it's like a kick in the back. :)

There's no vacuum in the intake manifold at open throttle, so in theory auto LSD in non-TRD Off Roads is less effective.

Sliding around corners, and then bragging about it IS against the rules. Continue to push the issue......I dare you.
