I FREAKING LOVE The 04/05 body style. Best one ever IMO. My 04 is sitting motionless in the garage right now. Replacing the fuel lines under the intake manifold and removing the aftermarket turbo inlet the previous owner installed.

I'm putting her back together tonight though. :D

This drives me nuts. From a dead stop mustang will not win. I had a GT attempt to race me and even on the interstate starting at 65mph he lost horribly. And my STi is just stage 2 - simple modding.

But i'm selling my '05 STi for a '05 Tacoma. I LOVE the Subaru but it's time to get out of the flashy "sports" car thing and move on. I've had her for about 3.5 years now and she's been amazing!

I don't think i'd trade on a car that has been rebuilt unless you know who did it and that they did it right. May be trading for something you work on more than drive...

my two toys (Car will be sold sunday and I'm probably getting rid of the bike too.. had a '09 CBR1000RR that my soon to be ex husband wouldn't let me have. Hoping the judge will make him give it back to me or at least pay me what I put into it)

Bilstein 5100's on all four with some OME 885x's. Brute Force Fab front bumper. Warn winch. Koenig countersteers wrapped with duratracs.
^^^ did the same thing....had an 05 sti and a gixxer...sold em for the taco.

the sti's are amazing cars. i had basic stage two upgrades and then a few other bolt ons running 20 pounds...the thing MOVED. not to mention with some coilovers on ramps and off ramps can be taken at whatever speed u have the balls for! such a fun car

good luck with the car! you are def gonna love it!

I traded in my Subaru for my Tacoma. Im NEVER switching back to a car EVER. Subaru is good on gas, but personally they don't have enough power for what I need/want and I am tired of always getting run off the road (metaphorically speaking) by bigger cars and trucks. I drove a 1992 Subaru Legacy since I got my permit and sold it for a 2009 Subaru outback, then sold it for my amazing 2008 Toyota Tacoma.

    Hope you enjoy your subaru!

haha a bone stock STi weighs about 1,000lbs LESS than a tacoma and has 45 more HP..... you do the math, bolt on's on your tacoma will yield next to nothing, bolt on's on a STi will yield you over 400hp easily

and the mustang comment, please the new mustangs mabye anything 09 and older you're not kidding anyone but yourself

Well imma girl and dont know anything about vehicles except how to drive, but I do know I choose my truck over my old subaru. If its your preference, well more power to ya.

As they say, "To each their own." No need to get defensive over one persons comment.

I'm a girl and I know how to do much more than drive. And I KNOW my Sti will beat an older mustang.. because it has. Never raced anything newer than my car though. Maybe you're racing WRXs? Or people who don't know how to drive an AWD?

Either way.. The STi is a great ride. If you do the trade just hope it's a good build.

I just can't wait to put normal gas in my car!! I've had to put 93 oct in every car i've owned since high school lol

A GT what? Lots of variance there. If you're talking a 2010 GT, you're around 300 HP. If you're talking a 2011 GT, you're talking 400+ HP stock.

drove a 2011 5.0 stang the other day... it was def a badass car but, however, the sti i was trading for, blew the doors off of a 07 z06 vette. so please... mustang boneheads.... go give yourself a swirly in the toilet... or let me do it with a gt35r turbo on the subie.

Umm...stock 2012 5.0 Mustang would blow a stock 2012 STI out of the water on the highway. If you're talking a twisty road course, it'd be a closer race. If you're talking mods, then the sky's the limit. Modded car vs. stock car is a stupid argument.
