First Let me say that this is my first post, and I need a little help. I thought I knew exactly what I wanted untill I read on a rescent post that it isnt available that way. Anyway, if I could have everything I wanted I would order a 2012 dc trd long bed with off road package. I dont like the hood scoop and I want a locker, not just lsd. so the sport package is out. I want a longbed because I go on long hunting trips out of state, and the long bed is needed so that I can set up a blow up matress in the back and sleep under the cap. A short bed is too short to sleep in. SOOOOOOO, my next question is should I save some money and just go with the sr5 4X4. Then add aftermarket parts? That way I could still have the long bed and get all the upgraded options for off roading aftermarket.. What say you all???? Thanks Guys

5% Tint, Bug flector, vent Visors, Removed secondary air filter, Rear Spring TSB w/ Wheeler's Add A Leaf HD Pack, Icon 2.0 rear shocks, Toytec 3" lift up front with Total Chaos UCA's, Debadged, Billet Grille,TRD Offroad rims/17x9 Pro comp 6001 rims, Duratracs 265/75/16 or 285/70/17, Fog light anytime mod, Tailgate hose clamp mod, Pro-dry AFE filter. Extended Differential Breather, ABS on/off, 6000k LEDs from CSJumper, heads/fogs, ScanguageII, Devil horns, Devil horns on third brake light, Mounted 60" Highlift, Mounted Tool Box, Wet Okole Front/Rear Seat Covers, TW sticker, Midland Handheld CB,Painted engine cover, Revenge Fab Sliders, ARE Topper, Weather tech Floorliners, Camper shell, ultimate headlight upgrade. URD -3° exhaust cam gears, .5" XTP Intake spacer. Custom dents.
Thats what I would do! Then you can make the truck exactly what you need without the extra.

TRD Packages include the SR5 package, not the other way around (All TRD's are SR5's, not all SR5's are TRD's). SR5 is a trim package only and the TRD Packages add on to the SR5 packages with LSD, locker, ATRAC, bed outlet, upgrades seats, color matched mirrors, door handles, etc (depending on TRD Sport or TRD Off Road). A plain ol' SR5 does not have any of the goodies from the TRD packages.

Some atleast my SR5 has LSD. Keep in mind my truck is an 07 so I can't speak on new packages.

How'd you manage that one? My 2007 SR5 has an open diff and we have basically the same truck, DCSB 4x4!

I questioned the dealer after having purchased the truck. He looked it up and found that my truck was ordered and never picked up. I just got lucky.

Have you confirmed with a dealer that you cannot order this combination? I have played around with the "Build Your Tacoma" function on Toyota.com, and it only shows combinations available in your area (by zip). At least it did initially, because for my zip it would only show DCLBs in three colors, and now there are many more.

The truck tends to get high centered more often due to a longer wheelbase and its harder to navigate tight trails due to a longer truck.
