Ive noticed mostly everyone blanks out their licence plate #'s when the post up on TW. Is there a reason for this? Can someone do something with your licence plate number? Just thought i should ask, so if i need to blank all mine out..

it's because on here people show off their mods that may not be seen to the naked eye on the street. and if someone knows your plates, you can get someone's address easily. pics can be viewed by non-members just snooping around the site

People can run the records and find out who owns the vehicle and where you live. Like whipper said, this is easily accessible anyways, but maybe some don't want it posted on the interwebz with the rampant-ness of fraud these days. I'm sure somehow it could be used as the missing link for someone depending on what they are trying to find out about you?

If you had the ability (or Friends) you could punch in the number and get your name ,address, etc.
I think in these times you could do it on the net. Never tried.
It just makes things a little harder to pry.
Years ago i had a complete book of Maine with all license plates, addresses, and names.

Lots of people are saying that everyone around you sees it so no biggie.
But IMO being on a forum is more focused and can " Call Attention" to things.
I do it, always have, always will.

Yup, however like we said, it is easy for the thousands of people we pass everyday to get it if they want it. The plate itself won't get them anything, but may give them some information they need to complete their fraud.

... also you may not want people who know you, to find out or link you to RJALL.

So, what about parking your vehicle in your driveway, crooks might be able to figure out where you live that way as well.

Me neither, but I can think of examples, if your car is being repo-ed, it's stolen, wanted as a get away driver, etc. For the rest of us, not sure, maybe you post things on here you don't want people who you associate with regularly to know what you post on your forum site.

Well again, it is not necessarliy secret info. Having it online may allow greater access to it, but otherwise it is not something that can be found out.
Public records allow people to do a reverse check, if they want to look for Tacomas in your area they can look up license plates and then back track to your address.
