This. You're literally throwing money away if you're wheeling a 25k truck hard enough to cause regular multi-thousand dollar damage bills.

I understand making mistakes and sometimes shit happens. But if you learned anything other than "damn, I cut that too fine, and need to play it a lot safer next time" then you should be using a less expensive toy to find those limits.

 

All the guys saying PDR it - that's not a PDR repair. Too big, too many creases, paint already cracked.

PDR is like magic for the limited repairs that it does work on, but it isn't actually magic, and there is a limit to what it can do.

 

id fix it. that would bug the shit out of my esp since its on the drivers side. maybe ur not as neurotic as me tho lol

this is exactly my thoughts. it was a stupid mistake that should have never happened. it was dark and late. i should have been more careful.

i think im going to go ahead with the repairs. i dont wheel this truck enough or hard enough to say its without a doubt going to get damaged again so i would rather have a nice new truck, not all banged up. then the handful of times i do take it off the pavement think about the lesson i have learned and slow down and be much more cautious.

 

Fix it or else you will have a hassle with insurance the on the next tree stump.

 

If it were my truck, I'd get it fixed since I try pretty hard to keep my Tacoma looking nice. But, since you say you wheel the truck and there's a strong possibility of this sort of thing happening again, I'd say hammer it out, get it as close as you can then bed liner the bottom portion of the doors on both sides to help hide the imperfections from the crude body work repair. If you think you can be more careful so this sort of thing doesn't happen again, fix it right since it's so new!

 

I would go to a place that does touch less dent removal I think its called, they get back there with giant spoons and air and Pop/push it back in place. then I would touch it up and see how it looks if its still no up to your standers Bed line it or get it fixed all the way.

That kind of dent work is usually pretty cheap. so try that before putting the big buxs behind it.

 

I would say get it fixed right by a reputable shop. That is what you have insurance for. It is going to cost you $1000 to get it fixed right and let's say $500 to get it done halfassed with junkyard parts and others painting it for you, and you will never be happy with it. Your resale value will take a dip of more than $1000 if you don't fix it right anyway, so why not bite the bullet and do it right.

Since the truck is so new, I would get it fixed. If it was 10 years old, I couldn't care less.

I'd fix it. A deer just ran into the side of my truck last week. Dented the door and bed on the drivers side. I'm getting it fixed next week. As far as the deductible I'd lower that. I couldn't live with a dent that large on a new truck.
