So I was invited to a "special" new owners event where I bought my truck (Power Toyota of Irvine). It sounds pretty cool, I mean, how can I say no to free dinner, tech help, and checkin out new Toyotas? So I'm gonna go to this thing and the reason I'm posting is cause I wanna see if:

    1) anyone else bought a Toyo from here and are gonna go to the event

    2) if you guys want me to ask the stealership technicians any questions in general.

    Here's the email invite.

I have a feeling that if I ask the questions you guys ask I'm not gonna end up being at the event long...

I would like to hear why the dealerships seem to all of a sudden come down with a case of Stupid when you mentions a TSB.

So I went to the VIP new owner's event, and I wasn't really able to ask them to clarify why all dealerships are considered "stealerships" and why their "technicians" and salesmen don't know anything about what they're paid to know...

That aside, they offered turkey dinner (eh..), mac & cheese, sandwiches, all kinds of healthy snacks, etc, etc.. but little did I know they were gonna have a raffle too. The GM said that the prizes were of "unspeakable value" so naturally I'm expecting Toyota cup holders or some other lame promotional items.. but they actually had a few not so bad items.. the first one was a $25 credit card (lame), next was a Lo-Jack installed, then 2 "Perma-plate" paint/interior care systems. The demonstration was impressive; the guy legitimately krylon-ed the hood of a brand new prius then set the paint on fire! He the cleaned it right up with no problems! impressive... the guy said you NEVER have to wax the paint as the protective layer pretty much doesn't let the wax bond to it anyways. not bad...

I already purchased the Perma-plate when I bought the truck, so I didn't need that, the $25 gift card was lame.. but low and behold, there was the Lo-Jack. Though not really necessary this day in age, not too bad if it was free... Sure enough.. they called my ticket number! So now I'm a proud new owner of a Lo-Jack system installed and everything free!! (home installation if necessary) :yay:

I guess the event wasn't a total waste of my time..
