My 2006 brakes squeal very loudly when backing out of my driveway. It only does it when the truck sets for a while and mainly when it is idling faster in the a.m. I went to the dealer and he said that they all do it because they took the nickel out of the metal in the rotors. You pay $30,000 for a vehicle and the whole town hears me exiting my driveway. I only have 6,00 miles on it. Anyone else have this problem?

small dent on the hood, new foglight bulb, roughed up bedliner, been smoked in, suspicious stains on the passenger seat, boogers on the drivers seat, dirty floor mats, girl doodles on the dirty windows, loose wiring
after a rain or a humid night, my brakes always squeal until the surface rust gets scraped off by the brake pads, it goes away after a half mile of driving

haha i find it quite annoying but whatever, until i replace my brake rotors with carbon fiber discs, they'll keep getting rusty from sitting

No squealing here. I'm actually surprised it is this common.

Consumer Reports just found out that there are some brake pads circulating that are made of Kitty Litter. Maybe Toyota has been trying to cut some costs.

This happened to me for about a month...and it's been gone for about a month...only 8000 on mine...dunno what it is, but since it quit, I haven't really thought about it that much...also only happened when backing out of my driveway for the first time in the morning...

Mine is doing the same thing, I have only noticed it when backing out of the driveway. It's not loud, but it's there. 06 with 14.8k

there is a tsb for 05-07 tacomas updating front rotors and applying grease to minimize a front brake noise while reversing after a vehicle sits for extended period of time
