It will probably be around the Fremont area:

ALSO, I mentioned this to Brandon: I MAY be able to show yal some Mammoth bones out in the back trails. According to my Uncle, there were several giant skeletons [Mammoth/elephant/something?] back where we will be going (but given the fact that this was 20-25 years ago who knows if they are still there or if some zealous museum freak yoinked them)

I have a few things I need to get done on the truck this week but should be able to pull it off.
What time do you guys meet up?
Is there anywhere I can park a truck & trailer, I have a two hour drive and probably tow incase anything breaks.

Are you looking to keep it in the direct vicinity of where we are? If its ok to have it about 10 minutes away, you can leave it at my house.

or we might be able to leave it at the trail head. Or I can talk to the Camp Ranger and we could leave it about 2 minutes away from where we will be, at the scout camp.

Either way, bringing a trailer shouldn't be a problem at all.

If anyone's interested we could get a little more elaborate with it, do some bbq'ing or something? Just an idea...

*edit* time: last time we shot for like 3, but I would say between 1-2pm would be a good time to shoot for?

oh and did another shoot with the truck:

Yes badlands in Indiana. I live alot closer to Badlands than Rocks and Valleys.

Taco VR4: I may just drive the truck it could use a good drive. But if I trailer it I can park it anywhere not a big deal. I will probably make the decision later in the week, depends on how much I get replaced beforehand.

Sounds like fun Guys, this should be a good time.

I'd say we should shoot for closer to 1. Gives the longer travel guys more daylight to get home in afterwards.

I've got the state Recreational passport, do we need to have an ORV sticker for this area?

Legally you do not have to if it is a licensed vehicle. Some parks like the Mounds by Flint require one. I used to buy them but I didn't this year. I just forgot to. Some people do, some don't. Its only $16.something and it doesn't hurt. About every DNR officer will tell you the same. I doubt the USFS would make you have one too.

Not sure I can make it yet, but what type of trails are you planning on? I drive a lot of two tracks/seasonal roads, but not sure if I want to try any serious off-roading in a stock truck with tires that are "closer to replacement" than they are "new"...

I'm sure I will be in the same boat with the factory duncraps and another stock truck.

Not sure what where we go will be like but i'm sure you will be fine. Youd be supprised what your truck will do on stock rubber. And besides theres only one way to find out what your truck can do.

OK see if I can address all the questions:

We will shoot for 1pm then

ORV sticker: I was actually looking into this earlier today. NO you are not required to have them. These are on Manistee National Forest technically but they are not official trails so absolutely no need for a sticker. Can't hurt to have one but you will not get any fines if you do not have one (I do not)

Trails: They are mostly two-tracks. As Brandon can attest, my stock truck did just fine even with my leaf springs that are now forming a straight line :p and a clutch that has seen better days and a rear locker thats not working :p but for anyone looking at pushing their trucks more, there are options for that as well but there are always easy options around anything rough

*edit* and Brandon and I did some trail-blazing last time so the trails should be fairly clear this time through unless we try anything new lol

Hoping to hit Silver Lake for Closing Weekend on the dirtbike this weekend. Anyone else going weather looks decent.

Also, how does everyone mount a flag to the front of their truck for Silver Lake and the likes.
