2011 NCAA Football Thread

We play all those teams from time to time.....

Last time we played LSU was 96... Alabama, '08, Georgia, 2003 (We just picked them up on an annual rotation.) We played TCU at their best, and was the only team to take last year's national champ to OT.

Clemson is the only school that no matter what they do, people come up with some rationalization of why it doesn't count. Give it up. Ok, at 4-0 You might have said a little luck was involved, but at 8-0 and beating 3 top 25s (one of which kicked the crap out of SCar the next week) I'd say they are pretty "legit"

The guys are awesome this year, they have played their hearts out, and deserve where they are at. The right talent, coaching, and community support has come together and vaulted this years team to excellence.

You cooter fans are used to a legacy of mediocrity, no tradition, and always hiring has been coaches hoping they have that one last spark in them. Your history of being a basement SEC team does not reflect our team in any way.

If your alumni association would spend some of the PBR/Bail Bond fund on improving your facilities and hiring a modern coaching staff, you wouldn't always be riding the coattails of the two SEC teams that actually are worth a darn. Heck, even teaching your fans to use trash cans and not use the stadium as a urinal would help.

Some top notch players still pick cooter-U for some reason so the talent is there, but they are some of the poorest coached players in division 1 football. I've never before understood how a Heisman award winning quarterback is the poorest judge of quarterback skills in the NCAA.

They also have no pride in their team, school, or anything else other than themselves. Anyone who would deface their own campus, commit crimes en masse, and generally be a nuisance to the population at large shouldn't be allowed to play for any school. Not be told "don't do that again" and allowed to play. When they are all on parole, and halfway play as a team, they manage to do pretty decent.

So, in the words of more enlightened people than I.. "GET THAT JUNK OUTTA HERE"

And before you retort "WE BEAT YOU 2X IN A ROW" I refer you to the years before. I'll help you. SCar has only won the game 5 times in 15 years.... That was the first time two in a row has been done since 1969. Get over it. It happens. And one day, when you win 3 in a row... That's called a streak.

Are y'all really arguing about who is better clemson or south carolina?

Auburn had just gotten better as the year went on. Carolina bout beat them to just like clemson bout did. And still CLEMSUX. Next year or year after look for Carolina getting a new coach. They dont never stay. Which its better for Spurrier to leave anyway. Cause he is going to get older and get confused. If we beat Clemson this year. I think Clemson is going to find them a new coach. Lattimore will be back out there when we play yall we will drug him up with pain killers.

There's no school in the country that can hand with LSU and Alabama. The winner of Nov 5 will win the national championship, unless key players are injured along the way.

CBS moved the game to prime time. I got a ticket. I'm counting the seconds.

I believe Alabama makes money on Basketball (and I know they make money on gymnastics). Not much on either, but just saying.

USuCk doesn't have the money to buy out Spurrier's contract. You guys would owe him like 40 Mil.

So Auburn sucked when they played Clemson, then became the ultimate powerhouse two weeks later when they played the coots... That's amazing. In that same time I guess Clemson got worse?

And here I was wishing you guys would stay ranked so we would have a two tombstone year..

I already hear the "But Lattimore and Garcia..." that will follow the impending implosion after finishing 7-6 after going to the Compass Bowl to be whipped by whatever bottom of the row Big East team shows up.

Garcia never was, and Lattimore is now a never gonna be. I really hate it for Lattimore, he had a lot of potential, but the old ball coach ran him into the ground. two bad knees? He won't ever be the same. His explosiveness and ability to stick and turn will forever be lost. Sad actually.

I hear you guys might get a good recruiting class next year if they can get out on good behavior.....

not a chance. those are called "non revenue sports" for a reason. i'd even go as far as to bet U-Conn womens b-ball still loses money.

this is the expense report for the university of alabama from last year. gymnastics is very much in the red.

 

I was just messing. Clemson could do some damage in the SEC this year. They'd win the East, then they'd play Bama/La State in ATL. It'd be fun.

The ticket I got is actually a converted student ticket. That's fine w/ me, except there's no assigned seating and they open the doors 2.5 hrs before kickoff. I'm too old to sit around for that long before the game. I got it pretty cheap - I hear the average price is around $600 and the get-in price is almost $400 - I paid just $170. I consider having to stand in line outside waiting for the doors to open and the time inside the stadium waiting for kickoff part of the price I pay.

 

Well shit. Clearly I was wrong about gymnastics... Glad to see I was right about basketball, though.
