Trimmed stock bumper?

I was wondering if anyone has trimmed the lower portion of the front bumper right above the fog light holes on a 2nd gen tacoma and then made a tubed front bumper that sits right below it. i know its been done on a 1st gen. i remember seeing a pic of one somewhere, but i cant seem to find it anywhere. Can anyone help me?

I know the pic is a chevy, but you get the idea of what im talking about.

I really want to. The way I'm thinking, if I can do it just right, it should look super clean. I've got a buddy here in town where I'm going to school who specializes in offroad fabrication (those are rare in Texas) who said he'd make me one with my design for $400 including materials. Ive seen his work and it is really good. I just can't decide if that's a good price or not.

 

well what exactly is your design? you can pm me if you dont wanna clutter this thread but i can probably give you a pretty good opinion on price since i asked around alot for my bumper and a few different ideas..

It definitely looks unique, but you are cutting up a perfectly good bumper cover that could be sold for $$.
