URGENT driving in fwd

    Hey all. So my truck currently has no rear driveshaft. Would it be safe/ok for the truck for me to put it in 4hi and drive the 5mi to the machine shop to pick up my driveshaft?

    It will be fine. Just don't go over 55 mph and keep both hands on the wheel, it will have awful torque steer.


    When I toasted my rear driveline in May I drove 6 hours home in FWD and for about a month after that around town with no issues at all.

    There is nothing between the tcase and the rear diff. So essentially I have a freewheel rearend. Its all city roads so I won't be going over like 35-40mph.

    You should be fine. Just take it easy off the line. Ease into the throttle.

    FWD toyota is a FWD Toyota. (although I'm presuming you're face palming the fact that I compared a factory FWD vehicle to one that's on modified duty.)
