i realize that, I have seen what happens when you hit a deer fast if it flies up to windshield, I got to look through and entire album of pictures.....nasty
(my cousini works for an insurance company, brought them home to show us)

worst ones were at about 80 MPH there was about half a windshield left, the deer in multiple pieces, inside of car solid red

i was saying it as in i wouldn't worry about my bumper anymore and only worry about windeshield

they are completely designed around not doing this lol.

i have one on mty truck and i would have to think that it would take an extremely tall large animal to get over my hood possibly a giraffe

Yeah, I knew this. I went back and reread what he said and if you read it carefully, he is not questioning the bumper itself. He was saying that the least of his worries would be the bumper.

I don't see a deer (unless jumping) getting up into my windshield even right now, unless I was going really goddamn fast maybe

Im going to ad to this, what do I need to do to my front suspension so make it not sag from the bumper. I do a lot of highway driving and some offroad. At this time I would really like it to ride like it is stock or as close as possible to it, I drive anywhere from 700-1000 miles away. Also any links to specific kit to order would be greatly appriciated. Thanks for all the help

Unlikely. The hood is too high for that, especially if your truck is lifted. Since the deer is running across the road, often a corner of your truck hits it, causing a headlight to cave in. The deer also tends to be swung around, putting a dent in your rocker panel.

You will more than likely be able to drive away with an arb installed. You will likely have some minor body damage, possibly a bent bumper if it hits on a corner, but you will likely reduce the damage to the truck by more than the price of the bumper. The only thing you should need to maintain ride height should be new coils.

You could probly get away with some Bilstein 5100'2 and your stock shocks. As for me I have full stock coils and shocks and it's a really soft ride. Anytime I brake hard it nose-dives.. I will be putting on OME 886x shocks and some nitrochargers, though I want to get a little lift (2-3")

With a 3" lift you'd only have to worry about moose.

Seen a guy who hit a moose in a 90's ford escort. Caved in the entire roof. Dude just had some cuts on his hands and the vehicle was still drivable.

    Tacoma lifted with ARB?

It's called Bambi Bowling for a reason.

And you get to save on ammo and have your venison freshly tenderized.

    (Fucking deer...)

smashed one last year at 60mph never touched the brakes cause i never saw it coming, my truck was completly stock then, it didn't even scratch my hood and it ended up going under my truck, got my insurence to split the relentless fab bumper with me tho!

Just installed my ARB, measuring front and rear at the hub center, ground to top of fender well on a stock suspension, I have 2" difference front to back. Going to get some 5100's intsalled set at 1.75. Later if/when I get the rear TSB, I will move them to 2.5". Looking to level, not lift.

nice! the arb is tough looking.

it's all a matter of opinion but, to me the arb looks really nice on our trucks really the arb and the relentless are the only designs i like at all.

the all pro bumper is ok looking but, that thing is no where near one of erics bumpers or the arb in terms of protection and capability.

I have an arb and my wife hit a 180 lb whitetail and all it did was knock the rubber bumper part off. Outside of that I just had to get the hair out of the grill

ARB Front bumper. OME suspension with 2.5" lift. Firestone airbag load assist.
Hit a 5x5 buck with my 06 tac on the way to moose hunting. The air bags went off and the truck stalled. I couldn't open the doors so we had to crawl out the windows. We took a few pictures, crawled back into the truck, fired it up and drove away without a wobble and continued on our way just a little bit late. BUT... The autobody shop is assessing it right now and so far it's at $14,000 damage! It may be a write off. You would never know by the pictures. My next truck is definatly getting an ARB. To be able to drive away after hitting a deer in the middle of nowhere with no cell service is priceless! And I got my moose!
