with a 1.5" or 2" AAL? I am putting 5100's on the front tomorrow and I am probably going to set them at 2.5". I will be getting an AAL next week but I am not sure if I want a 1.5" or 2". I am also unsure if the stock rear shocks will be okay for the AAL. I don't off-road much and am actually taking my first real trip in the truck this weekend. I know it will be better to get new shocks but can I run the stock ones with no problems as long as I don't go crazy wheeling?

Length-wise they will work although not idea. You have a regular cab so very light therefore I'd be careful with the AAL you choose. You could end up getting a little more than the advertised lift because of the lack of weight. The ride would most likely suffer since the stock shocks are soft and won't be able to dampen the stronger leaf pack. FWIW, I'm running stock height 5100's with 2" of lift in the rear. If I really flex out the rear, I know I run the risk of topping out the shock and blowing them out but if you take it easy you'll be fine for a while. Are you planning on swapping them out sometime in the near future?

Also, the Icon or Wheelers 3 leaf AAL is an awesome product. It's a 1.5" AAL but if you leave the factory overload in place you can gain 2" of lift.

IF tight on cash get the toytec shock extensions, cheap effective and will allow you to say up for the proper length shocks

I am pretty set on the 1.5" AAL with that being said. I will eventually swap out the rear shocks just doing it one step at a time. If I go with the toytec 1.5" AAL or Wheeler's 3 leaf do you think I should set the front 5100 at 1.75 or 2.5? I'm thinking 1.75. I would like it level but I don't mind a small rake. I think 2.5 would be nose high with a 1.5" AAL.

wheelers 3 leaf, a lot softer. The toytec's i have are way to damn stiff. Get the progressive you will love it!

If you dont like the bro then stick with 1.75. If you dont mind being a little back rake do the 2.5!

Ok guys last question before I finalize my order with Toytec. I am almost set on setting the front 5100's on 2.5 and getting a 1.5" AAL since many members said I wouldn't need new UCA's and that it would set pretty level like that. If anyone else can chime in to confirm this on a regular cab I would appreciate it. The only other option would be to set them at 1.75" and still get the 1.5" AAL but I believe that would cause a factory rake. I am also getting the shock extenders for the rear. Thanks

Personally, I like a little rake but that's because I use my truck to tow and haul. Level looks nice but is not functional as far as I'm concerned.
