Holes in tailgate

I've managed to poke a couple of holes in the black "plastic" on my tailgate.
is this stuff the same as the "composite" bed?

any suggestions on what to fill in the holes with?

There is no bedliner, per se. The bed and tailgate, absent supporting structures, are composite.

Check with Relentless Fab, they made a diamond plate tailgate cover that would cover your holes and prevent it from happening again.

 

How big are the holes? If they're small enough (<1/4" or so) I would fill them with black silicon caulk. I doubt anyone would even notice.

 

My question is how? The inner bed is tough as hell. I've throw all kinds of heavy stuff in mine and barely scratched it.

 

using it like a truck

loaded my daughters go cart by myself, you know the old set the front end on the tailgate,
pick up the azz end and shove it in.
I think dragging it out was when the holes appeared

@snake the caulk would drop through, there's nothing behind the plastic

@Monkeyboy that looks like a good idea but too much $$$

I may stick a sheet of aluminum under the plastic and fill the holes with caulk once it has a back

get some 2 part epoxy at the hardware store for a couple bucks and mix it up and spread it on like bondo. as it dries, (couple minutes), you can smooth it down to just fill the holes. You can even find it in black I think.
