No problem.. always happy to share info.

snowboards are really easy to work on and properly maintain if you just watch a couple youtube videos or read some articles. The only time you should waste your money having a shop work on it is if its a real emergency and you need something done right away and dont have the resources to do it yourself.

You are getting taken for a ride if you are paying $40 for wax, maybe with P-Tex work up the wazoo. I pay $15 for wax only and $25 for edge, base grind and wax. But seriously, I ride three boards and only hit my Voile split before each excursion, mostly because the conditions are different and the skins stick better with wax.

But my Burton Vapor and my old rock board, the custom, I hit it with new wax maaaaybe once a month and I ride professionally at least 70 days a season. Maybe I am spoiled by "Gaper-Free" blower days in Highlands Bowl, but seriously, my wax lasts at least a month before getting dry.

lol.. I never said that you said you would only do it once a year. if you look at the tuning kit i posted above, that has everything you need to wax, ptex, and tune the edges. its all really easy to do, just check out youtube.

Not $40 for a wax job, $40 for a wax iron and wax so you can do it yourself.

Yea riding powder is a lot different. When I lived in Colorado I waxed every couple weeks, where as here on the east coast I have to wax it every few times I use them. We ride on "loose granular" and ice most of the time. its super abrasive and kills the wax fast.

For wax i got swix wax -10C/-32C, 1C/-4C, and 0C/10C pretty much the same for TOKO wax, some cheap wax the local board shop has for all temp, I use that for storing my boards, or when I know a wax job won't last too long. some oneballjay all temp with graphite additive, another oneballjay all temp and some Mr. Zogs sexwax somewhere around here. dakine Iron that is beat to shit. and http://www.dakine.com/p/snowboard/tuning/deluxe-tune but an older version. Had some roll on stuff that you rub on with cork. lasted only a run or 2 per application but man did that stuff make you go fast.

I don't get how we can all afford to go skiing and snowboarding, I was looking at some prices and I gotta say this sport is expensive. If I didn't join ski patrol I don't think I would be able to hit the slopes this year.
