Being a Southerner where HUGE firecracker superstores are everywhere, Fireworks are a way of life. The most fun I ever had with them was about 8 years ago I went to a friend's house and we got pretty drunk. We wound up duct-taping Christmas ornaments to large bottle rockets and blasting them into the air. Only problem is that he lived in an apartment complex and the next morning there were broken and burnt x-mas ornaments all over the place and parking lot. But boy was that fun as hell!

We had bottle rocket wars in high school... pretty dumb shit thing to do as one of the bottle rockets hit a guy in the eye -- he can't see out of it anymore...

They're outlawed out here in Cali too. Good reason too since it gets so dry.So I don't do anything with them here. Back in TN it rained so much that it was OK. But I live near Oakland and on the 4th of July, it still sounds like WW3 over there, so obviously there must be a pretty big illegal fireworks market.

Man, you all were mean kids! Its funny in a sickening, demented way though. We used to stick em' in yellow jackets nests and run like hell.

I remember they used to sell M1000's. They outlawed them because they were hardly what you'd call firecrackers and were more like miniature sticks of dynamite. A lot of kids got hurt with them.

Did you all ever do the thing where you could light a bottle rocket and let it go into the lake or a river? I thought that was amazing as a kid, that bottle rockets would propel themselves underwater.

as kids we would blow up beer bottles in the alley, there is something about blowing things up that was enjoyable. Another fun thing was to break the sticks off of bottle rockets lay them on the ground and set them off, the fun part was not knowing in which direction it was gonna to go. As much fun as we had If I caught my kid with fireworks I would break his hands.

My Dad was just as bad as I was. One time he actually mounted a pipe on the deck. We'd stick bottle rockets in it and aim it at different things in the yard. Its a miracle that I have all my limbs, eyes, and fingers.

OME up front, Dakar in the back, Elite front bumper, Warn winch, Tactical rear bumper with tire swing/jerry cans/hi lift, Revenge Fab. sliders, Tundra brakes, Camburg UCA's, Safari Snorkle, FJ TRD wheels, Lights, CB, Switches, skids, LED's... OH MY!
A number of years ago i had gotten a bunch of fireworks through i guy i worked with (living in PA you needed to go elsewhere for fireworks)... a bunch of m-80s, quarter sticks, roman candles, a few half sticks...etc.

i had them under my bed for a long time and never found anything to do with them so one day i decided to cut them all open and take all the black powder out. then i had a coffee can full of powder in my nightstand by my bed for about a month (looking back i realize how dangerous this was) i decided to make a bomb... for lack of a better word...

i packed it in a piece of PVC pipe that was about 3-4" in diameter and about 8" long, epoxied PVC caps on either end and put about 2' of fuse through the middle...

long story short... a neighbors 15' tall watering can (lawn art???) was never the same again....

I remember one time I was at my Brother's idiot friend's house. They burned their garbage and had a huge pile of stuff- furniture, appliances and what not burning away.( I'm sure the fumes were great for us) But anyway, one of the guys there threw in an entire package of those tiny little whistle rockets. There was like 500 of them and they spent the next 5 minutes shooting all over the damned place. Sure pissed off the neighbors.

I had a blackcat blow up in my hand when I was 14. Went numb for a good 15-20 minutes, and when I could feel it again...wow.

We used to go to France a lot (I lived in England) and we used to bring back loads of Petards, like little sticks of dynamite:

They were great fun. Bro and I got the biggest one we could find, put it on the ground, lit it and put the dog's stainless steel food bowl over it upturned. Man, that thing used to fly over 100ft in the air with a cool plume of smoke following it - highly amusing. That was our party trick whenever friends came.

I almost blew my toe off with a bottle rocket one time... was drunk as shit and was holding it, lit it, and when it started to get crunk I let go... but I was a little too early and it fell to the ground, pointed at my foot, and pppssssss BANG on my foot. Hurt so bad but everyone else got a kick out of it!
