    I have a 2011 dc tacoma 4x4 with 3 inch spacer lift running stock billys.the ride is pretty good just looking for a little more. I am going to keep the spacer lift forsure. I have researched and it seems the billy 5100s are where its at.my question is will they work well with stock springs? Will it improve ride quality that much? And what is a estimate cost for all 4? Thanks for any help...

    Foglights are for fog, not oncoming traffic!
    Ditch the lift and run 5100's.

    I just got off the phone with technical support for Bilstein NA.
    I will be getting some soon.

    no need to run 5100s and spacers.... 5100s give you lift. set em at 2.5 and ditch the spacers. you will love life

    x2, use the 5100's for lift and lose that spacer before you break something. Best ride you could get in my opinion would be to replace shocks and coils but that obviously costs a lot of money. If you're already considering buying 5100's, there's really no need for those ride-hindering spacers.

    So I got a question, I have the 4x4 reg cab with a three inch spacer lift, I am going to put 884s and Ted bilsteins, will the ride be like night and day compared to the base model shocks and springs with spacers that I have right now?

    I was just told by an off road shop that the Toyota TRD Billies are valved exactly the same as the 5100s. the only thing the 5100s give you are:

    1. ability to lift up to 2.5
    2. longer shock to accommodate longer travel.

    So going back to the reason why you posted originally, not sure 5100s will give you a smoother ride set at 0 and have heard you will definitely not get a smoother ride if you lift them since you are pre-loading the spring.

    If this is not accurate, I welcome all corrections. I am sure many will.

    I thoughts so too but it was also two different guys on two different occasions (same day) from the same store.

    5100's are not the same as the stock TRD billies, your dealership is misinformed. Put a set on your truck and you'll very quickly realize they are valved differently. The fronts can provide up to 2.5" of lift by preloading the stock coil. The rears do NOT have longer travel. Your stock shocks will support a small lift as will the 5100's. If you start pushing 2" of rear lift and flex out the rear leaf pack, you'll top out the 5100's and possible break them.

    let the :crapstorm: begin!

    can't personally speak about front spacers, i have OME 886's and 5100's, (fantastic ride IMO), but i have a 2" block in the rear with stock shocks and its SHIT compared to the front, get some rear OME shocks for your blocks, thats what I'm gonna do so i get my ride back and my personal safety, (stock SR5 shocks extended an extra 2" all the time= BAD JUJU). and as the other guys said, the reason for your stiff ride is BECAUSE of your current lift, people aren't gonna tell you what you want to hear, ditch that spacer lift up front, keep the stock coils and jack up those 5100's to 2.5"!:thumbsup:
